Sorry about all the rain, but it's only partially related to my question.

I saw the entryway sign to WDW on the news 2 days ago, and you could actually see a lot of smoke and some flames, so the fires were pretty bad in the area. If you are there now, can you see any damage anywhere (the news said the resorts and parks were safe).

I hope the rain does a lot of good actually.

My cousin's family just arrived testerday, I hope their trip turns out alright.

On Monday the ramp to 192 was closed due to brush fire. Since all the rain that is no longer the case. Since alberto hit the price of gas has gone up 20-30 cents a gallon- Im staying in lake buena vista and have seen no other problems with brush fires.

Just returned yesterday. The fumes are in the air big time when the wind blows your way. Even giving a hazy appearance from time to time.
I am sure the rain has done its job by now though.

We spent Saturday in Animal Kingdom and as we were entering the parking area, the sky was filled with smoke. We couldn't smell it once we got in the park. We weren't sure what it was from, then on the way back to the hotel that night we past a "warning smoke ahead" sign. But now that Alberto has moved through, nothing could possibly be on fire. So, I guess nature is taking care of us.

We are here now. Friday evening, we could see smoke in the distance. On Saturday, the air at Typhoon LAgoon was hazey/smokey and we could smell smoke. But by lunch time, it was clear!! We haven't really noticed anything since then.

Alberto didn't drop enough rain and the fire off of 192 (by AK) is still burning. This morning at the TTC you could still smell smoke.

We're here! I am sitting in Wilderness Lodge as I type this. The rain has partially stopped. But it hasnt been too bad. We just keep our ponchos handy! As for the fire, as of yesterday evening it was still burning. We are hoping this rain will help it tone down. Luckily we were here last week too so we got the good weather while it lasted. We are still having a blast! :cool1:

Well, it's good news that the fires are under control thanks to the rain. And that other than a little moisture, nobody's trip is getting ruined.
