Anyone there now...how's the crowds & weather?

Were were just there last week. Weather was great. Hardly any rain and the crowds were pretty much nonexistant until the start of the F&W festival. Then everything picked up a lot.

We walked onto every ride at MGM, Epcot, MK and AK. The longest wait was about 10 minutes.

Starting Friday (beginning of F&W) the lines at epcot jumpted to about 30 - 70 minutes and at other parks it was still ok. About 20 minutes average (40+ for fantasyland)

Here right now. Waiting for hubby and kids to get ready. We arrived on 10/1 and it has rained every day so far. Yesterday being the worst. Today we are expected to get rain 60% chance and tomorrow too. TS Tammy is off the coast. Nothing bad, just a lot of rain. Watching weather channel now. As for crowds, it is more crowded than we are used to but ok. Most wait times are 20 minutes. I have seen 50 minutes for Soarin around 3pm and all the fast passes gone for the day. We were at MK yesterday and most rides without FP were a 20 minute wait. Some 40 minutes like Peter Pan's flight. Tink didn't fly last night due to it being to windy.

If it weren't for the rain that we have had every day it wouldn't be to bad. Yesterday and today being the worst I think. Hopefully we will miss a lot of today as its moving NW.

I may be online for about 5 more minutes so if you have any questions ask now :) :)

Still here. The crowds seem busier then last Sept but the wait times are not bad at all. Walked on ToT and RnRC at 2pm this afternoon. It is VERY VERY humid but isn't raining as much as they said it would. Just same ole 10-15min showers every few hours. Last night my parents watched my dd and DH and I did Epcot EMH. We walked on Test Track single lane (I don't understand why more people don't utilize that :confused3) although the stand by was 30min. This was right after Illuminations though so I am sure it died down some after that. All the Food and Wine booths were open until midnight and we tried to do as many as we could but it rained ALOT last night from 10pm to midnight. We had our ponchos on drinking champagne from plastic shaped champagne glasses - it was a riot. Lots of fun people though. Then we headed over to Jellyrolls and that was a ZOO so we left shortly after. DD is sleeping right now and we are heading over to MK for EMH tonight. I have a feeling it will be crowded as there are back to back MNSSHP Thurs and Fri night but we shall see. I wouldn't worry at all. I haven't waited in anything for more then 15min our entire trip and we arrived on Sat.

Bring ponchos, go to the parks the morning after EMH nights (MGM was SO SO empty Mon AM and sis said the same about Epcot this AM) and utilize fastpasses ONLY for rides more then 20min - since most of them aren't 20min but 10min or walk-ons. Today RnRC said 40min and I fastpassed only to go back (again saying 40min) and pretty much walked on with everyone else :earseek:

We are having great fun!!!

Suzanne...Thank you Thank you Thank you! You answered my question about the Food and Wine booths being open on Epcot EMH nights. I am so happy to hear that they are open. Were the lines long at that time of night for teh booths? What about the pavillions? Were they open as well?

Everything in the world showcase was open for EMH. All the rides, shops, snack counters, and of course the F&W booths. I am not sure about how late the TS restaurants stayed open until. There were a few in line at the booths near Mexico around 9:30pm but after that it was smooth sailing. Walked up to every booth and chatted and had a lot of fun. Now remember it rained most of 10pm to midnight though so I am sure that kept the crowds down. I would love to be able to do it again sometime, the EMH at Epcot is SO nice!! Carlsberg beer at Scandanavia was my favorite as well as the Fairy Tale champagne. There is supposed to be a lager at the Puerto Rico section that is only being sold here and then after this 6-7 states :confused3 . We arleady passed it but I guess you should try it. Oh and I found a new favorite site for Illuminations. On the 2nd story deck in Japan, on the level of Teppanayaki. Anyone can stand there and it was by far, my fav place to watch it. Hardly anyone there!

Now last night MK was SO SO crowded for EMH but again - the rides were still pretty much walk-ons. The only negative of last night was the bus rides home. Since there are back to back MNSSHP tonight and tomorrow, I think there was MANY more people that opted to stay until midnight. When we came out at 12:20am, there were 2-3 bus loads of people in EVERY resort line. It was CRAZY. The All Stars Section looked like a concert - bumper to bumper people. The buses couldn't haul away people fast enough.

Any questions, ask away, we will be here until Sunday and I we are on wireless internet at Coronado. I check my emails while dd naps every afternoon.

We were there from Sept. 27th to Oct 5th and we had little problems with crowds except for a couple of instances.

1) Avoid the park during the day that has the Extra Magic Hours. It's okay to go during the actual evening EMH's though, because only resort guests can stay and it empties out quite nicely. Very busy during those days though because everyone is there.

2) Avoid Epcot on Saturday and Sunday. Many of the locals with AP's come on the weekend to go to the F+W Festival. (I would also avoid Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach on the weekends for the same reason).

If your bus is VERY crowded on the return to your resort, there are Yellow Cabs available to get you back quicker. We paid no more than $8.00 to get back from any of the parks. You can ask the Disney Information centers in each park where the cab stands are.
