Just an update after a little over a month on this medication.
I go back for a follow up with my Neurologist on the 16th. I am going to ask him to take me off of the medication. Ever since I started taking this med I have felt like I had the flu with all of the aches, pains, nausea, and other issues. I'm so dizzy that I am scared to drive most of the time. I kept thinking I had a virus that would go away but it's been 4 weeks of this now and it isn't getting better - only worse.
There is a chance, I suppose, that it isn't the medicine at all, but something inside the house or in the environment. DH and my DDs have had headaches on and off since we moved here but haven't been nearly as constantly sick as I have. I even had the gas company come out last month and check for gas leaks to rule out any CO leaks. I am at a loss what else to check for.
The migraines continued at the rate of 3 to 5 a week until I had been on the full dosage for a week (which was the beginning of the 4th week) but then one night I took a 2/3 dose instead of the full dose (to see if it made a difference in the flu like symptoms) and got 3 days bad of migraines in a row.
Weaning off this drug is going to be a migraine nightmare. I guess preventatives just aren't for me.
