Anyone take Topamax? Any side effects?

I also took dopamax...hated the side affects. Had to go to an interview after I first started it with a temp agency. Let's just say i didn't do so hot, lol.

I am on atenelol, very low dosage, and it has worked WONDERS!

My wife lost her job while taking Topamax. She starting making mistakes at the job, couldn't concentrate, and even mixed up personal receipts with business receipts, causing reimbursements to be off. I flat out told her to go back to the doc and get something else.

Fast forward a year, the doctor lowered the dose to 25. She has lost 35+ lbs, and is trying to lose more. She has landed a great job, the migraines have subsided, and all seems to be well.

I have been on Topamax for about 2 months now and I found it really did lower the frequency I had migraines. The side effects that I noticed the most were drowsiness, tingling in my feet (at around the same time every day!) and sometimes, I have trouble trying to say what I want to say - I feel like I am stumbling over my words. I don't drink soda so I don't know if my taste has changed for that. My appetite doesn't seem to be affected. So far, I will stay on it because the side effects don't outweight the benefits yet.

took topamax for a while. had trouble balancing myself. Very forgetful. could not concentrate on anything. and i did not loose weight. got on Keppra and love it!

After reading this thread I saw some side effects I forgot I had. It really SHOULD be called dopemax. :lmao:

I had the tingling in my hands and feet (lasted for a couple weeks after even taking the drug) and I was constantly off balance too. I'm a clumsy person to begin with so it was really bad for me!

Me too! I have always been less than graceful but now it is even worse. I already had to change clothes once today because I dropped a spoonful of my Frosty on my shirt and jeans.

I haven't had any tingling in the hands and feet but I have been a bit unsteady on my feet and a tad dizzy.

ClarabelleCowFan, your third tag is making me crack up. It describes me perfectly too :rolleyes1 :lmao:
