Did anyone use this service?

I will buy a digital camera soon, but I'm always afraid of handing in my camera to people I don't know.

So I was thinking of opting for photopass to get a pic of my parents and I since we normally don't have pics of the person holding the camera hahah :wizard:

We used it the past 2 trips, and its great. No obligation or anything, so we just had them take pictures almost everytime we came across a photopass photographer. Then when we got home, we found a few to be really really nice pictures so we went ahead and bought them.

Definitely go ahead and use it.

do you have different options like frames? When you get your photos developped at a resort you can get them to print Mickey frames around them. Can the same be done in this case?

Photopass is a GREAT service, and very convenient! I brought my digital camera with as well, because the Photopass people aren't located everywhere (of course), but we got lots of great photos from the Photopass cast members! If you choose to purchase the photos, they make lasting memories that are professionally done. Even if you don't choose to buy any, they are available online for (I believe) 30 days, so you can show friends and relatives your pictures! And, if you decide later that you want to order prints, you can do it right there online! Its free to get the pictures taken, so you can get as many taken as you want and look at them before you leave the parks each day...so I would definitely recommend you take advantage of this service! :thumbsup2

I used Photopass for the first time this past January when I took my niece to DW. We had our pics taken at MK and AK, since it was just the two of us it was a great way to get pics of us together. I had sent my sister the Photopass # so she was able to see the pics before we got home. Once I got home I ordered prints for the both of us. It came in really handy.

To the OP: Take FULL advantage of the PHOTOPASS! First time you and your family are in the PARKS (on your vacation) locate a CM with a camera, they are pretty much everywhere. Ask them to take your picture (if they have not asked you first). They are all very accommodating. They will allow you to make any poses you want as well as take pics of YOU alone, you and your family, just your parents, you and grandparents...basically any combination.

WHAT you want to do is FILL UP the Photopass. I think it holds 300 pictures. After the VERY first photo is taken the CM's will hand you a P.P. Card that they will scan and you will need to carry that with you everywhere so where ever you are whatever Park you are in you can have your pictures taken and then the CM will SCAN your CARD. You will do this ALL DAY LONG. You can have it done many many times in each Park. Like in MK, #1) Main Street, #2) CASTLE, #3) Tomorrowland etc etc!!!

Now the CD is the BEST BET. It is $99.00 for the CD. Inside the JEWEL CASE is a waiver/release that WDW will give you so that you and your family can go ANYWHERE....CVS, Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens to get all your pictures developed. WDW will put/download all the borders and frames and "2006" on the pictures as well. You can have the CD made at 3 locations #1) Mickey's Toon Town, #2) EPCOT near SpaceShip Earth and #3) GF! IF you opt to order them ONLINE through WDW, EACH picture is $13.00 and the only size available is 5x7. If you opt for the CD you can get ANY size (4x6) and each photo will be pennies (whatever CVS charges you)!!! The CD is a big savings in the end. FILL UP THE PHOTOPASS. If your family brings a laptop to the Resorts, you will be given a ID # and you can VIEW each picture taken during the day, AT NIGHT ON YOUR LAPTOP.

THIS does not include the souvenir photos from the RollerCoaster rides like Splash and Space Mt or RnRC etc etc...just when you are walking about all the Parks.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!! :thumbsup2

CAn anyone post pictures that were taken by photopass photographers with stich, tink, or with frames?

I'm really curious. Sorry!

Thx.

Though 99$ seems an aweful lot in my small budget hehehe ;)

It does AT FIRST, but if you were to take and order say 100 pictures from
WDW ONLINE 100 pics x 13.00 per photo = $1300.00 OUCH

If you buy the CD = $99.00 and develop 100 pics x .35 = $35.00 BIG SAVINGS!!!! Wal-Greens is somewhere around .30-.35 per photo and all
the WDW ONLINE photos are 5x7 at Wal-Greens you can go with the
4x6 size!!!!

SO look at it this way $1300.00 vs. $135.00 (CD & photos)!!!!! :goodvibes

We often gave our camera to the photo pass CM and they took a photo of us along with the one they took. I am excited about the $99.00 CD, I wonder if there is a package deal for the cruise? I am going to be sure to use the photo pass service every chance we get! :cool1:

Where do you find the CM's that take the pics? I was there last year and never saw a CM taking pictures. Well, I lied. My SIL was with us but wasn't always "by our side" throughout the parks and she had the photopass so she had quite a few pics done. And on our last day we got a photopass pic taken with her family of 3-with our family of four. But that was the only time. Do you actually search them out somewhere? Are they dressed differently? I'd like to do this next year when we go.

This is a GREAT explanation! We used Photopass for the first time last May before the CD was available. We thought we would try it. When we got home and I went on line, I was SO IMPRESSED with the pictures!!! I ended up ordering 6 5x7's--something I wouldn't normally do because of the price. BUT, they were SO good and all of us were in the pictures. PLUS, there was Disney MAGIC in those pictures I tell 'ya!!! Simba, Stitch, and my favorite--TINK!!! I can't WAIT for the opportunity to use Photopass--IN 25 DAYS!!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :bounce:  :cheer2:

Just chiming in with everyone else, Photopass is fantastic! I love that we can get pictures of everyone and it's all made very easy for you.
