Hi. We're thinking of traveling to Utah for our next vacation. Mostly because our ds's are both dinosaur fanatics. Anyone been to or live in Utah? I'd love some tips. I'm thinking of staying a few days in Salt Lake City, then on to another city, or maybe near one of the national parks.
Thanks

I've never been to Utah but have a cousin that lives there and I've seen lots of pictures really beautiful canyons. Many places to hike etc.

Another place for Dinosaur fanatics would be Montana. I grew up in the NE part and they have just completed a new Dinosaur museum. There are often digs going on, some of the largest dinosaur finds to date have been in the area. Here's a link with a search that has the museum and some of the other things available. I've heard that you can go to some of the dig sites but don't know how that works. We'll be there this summer so I'm going to see if it's something my girls would be interested in.

Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park are fabulous. Park City is great for mountian areas. Moab is great for mountain biking and Dinosaur National Park on the Utah/Colorado line is great for dino loving kids

My favorite hotel of all time is in SLC! It is called the "Grand American". Spend a night in one of their suites, and you will have a hard time topping the experience! The same goes with their sunday brunch!Heaven!

We spent a couple weeks camping in Utah about 8 years ago. What I really like about Utah is the number of amazing national parks (Bryce, Zion, Arches, Dinosaur, even Grand Canyon) within such a close proximity. We got good use out of our National Park pass that year! The only thing I got tired of was the red rock--I'm still finding it in my camper!

I have the same question! We want to go to Utah and Southwest Wyoming next summer. We're considering flying into Salt Lake City, driving up to Ogden to a Nature Preserve there, then over to Southern Wyoming (Evanston), then down to some big forest-I can't remember the name-Wac...somthing, I think. I, too, would love any info.

I grew up LDS, and visited my sister and her family many times in Utah. It is unbelievebale. Two hours either way you can be camping in the desert or sking in the mountains. I loved Bear Lake up north. Utah is simply one of the most beautiful states I have ever been in, other than Kentucky.

Utah is beautiful. I wish we had had more time to spend their on our trip this past Summer.

THis place is awesome - rather remote but I'm glad we made the trip.

we were just there a couple of weeks ago ( SLC and Park City) we will be going again in Feb for our anniversary were only 5 hours away in Boise but we'd never been there. :confused3

Anyway, we loved it!

Arches and Canyonlands NP are must sees! We tagged them on to a trip to Mesa Verde in Colorado. It was a wonderful NP vacation.

As part of our vacation this summer, we visited Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Both are beautiful but very different. We flew into Las Vegas and made kind of a "question mark" visiting Las Vegas, Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon South Rim, Sedona, and finally flew home from Phoenix. Absolutley wonderful vacation!!

In 1998, we flew into Salt Lake City, then drove to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. It was equally breathtaking, except it was a looonnnnng drive back to Salt Lake City to fly home.

Let me know if you need any details.
