We did it. We have netflix. We bought a Roku box from amazon to stream our netflix in HD. It also supports Pandora and a bunch of other channels.
We have a Wii. We have software that is available for a one time fee of about $40, called www.playon.tv . It makes hulu, cbs.com, espn, pbs and a bunch of other tv station videos play through your Wii right onto your tv so you don't have to have a laptop hooked up to the tv. We love it!
The only thing I miss about not having cable is watching some sports. We're not able to watch Brewers baseball games without having cable and we do miss that. But it wasn't worth the cost of cable anymore.
We love our Netflix streaming. I also just read that Netflix signed an agreement with more movie studios to offer even more movies and tv on the instant stream. We discovered a bunch of tv shows we like on Netflix that we never watched when they aired.
