I've bought 10+ movies from FYE since moving to Merritt Island in October, I submitted all my UPC's and original reciepts. Nothing has come back yet, althought I got my computer and laptop rebates back already from HP, and I submitted these prior to that. When I go to their site I to check my status only 1 comes up and it says invalid UPC???? I cut the UPC off the back of the movie. :confused3 Has anyone had any luck w/ them before?

I did with my the Playstation 2 I got my DS last year and it also said invalid. I don't shop there anymore!

I'm pretty upset about this as I've bought many movies from them recently and before the holidays all because of the rebates. I could have easily drivin to Walmart instead and got them for the after rebate price, but since I was already at FYE I figured I'd just go the rebate route. I never thought I would be out quite a bit of money. Anyone else have experience with them before?

I have only done it once with a movie, and the same thing happened to me. I don't shop there anymore either. I consider that a big lie to the customer so I don't give them my business.

I can't remember if the rebate was due from FYI or I had just bought a Toby Keith CD there but for the code I used the record company's code on the shrink wrap rather than cut the code out of the CD cover. I got a letter 6 weeks later saying that the code was "invalid" because it wasn't from the CD cover. I was furious because to me it was the obvious thing to do and I felt that they made an effort NOT to pay the rebate. I called and they "reconsidered". It was only $3 but it was the principle of the matter. The card they sent to tell me that I wouldn't be getting the rebate looked like one of many. It made me wonder if they had more "cards" than checks.

Now I am worried. I JUST sent in a rebate form for the karaoke machine we got at FYE. I followed the instructions VERRRRY carefully, since I think half of rebates are a hoax anyway. I cut out and sent EVERY upc I could find on the box, sticker, etc. Did the same for my 2 Bestbuy rebates. They ask for UPC, but the box had stickered ones, paper ones, and ones right in the cardboard. SO I cut them ALL out and sent them in.

Now Cingular, on the other hand....got a new cell in October. Sent in the rebate form. Got a text msg a few days later, letting me know it was received and getting processed. Now just a couple days ago, got another text msg that it has been processed and to watch for the check. THAT is great service and seems more legit to me.

On DVD forums people have all but sworn off FYE because either the rebates never come, or that you are asked to cut up your product to get the UPC. Proof of purchase tabs were created for a reason, but FYE doesn't seem to get that.

I don't buy anything at FYE, not worth it.

Great, well at least it wasn't a rebate that swayed me to buy the karaoke machine. Didn't even realize there WAS a rebate available, till I ran across the receipt again while cleaning out my purse :scared1:

I am not even sure what the rebate amount is. Oh, but wait, it was a rebate from the product manufacturer, now that I think about it.

I mailed in some rebates last year on DVDs purchased from FYE -- got zilch. I don't shop there anymore.

I called FYE today and voiced my concern they directed me to the following # 800-779-6219, you will need the rebate id or your zip, etc. Apparently, they can't "find" any of mine... go figure!

800-886-8370, is the fax #, if you've kept copies of your submissions you can fax them toll-free. I'm taking this further, I'll let you all know.

I wish you luck.

No proof, but I feel they consider a certain number of errors acceptable, and that error rate is pretty high.

I've had pretty good luck with FYE. The only times mine were invalid I made the mistake of cutting the UPC off the outer box, not the actual DVD case. However I was irritated about it since they a re the exact same UPC and stopped shopping there for awhile.
