Just wondering if anyone can verify if they did get rid of the resort fee and now charge for parking (and how much) or if they kept it all the same. Hoping to save myself 20 minutes of being on hold to talk to WDTC to find out!

We stayed at the Grand Californian Thursday and Friday nights and I'm pretty sure we paid a resort fee. We valet parked, but we're told that there was free self parking.

The fees were supposed to change first of the year, so for 2010 that makes sense. That's why I'm wondering if anyone is staying there now (2011).

I just got off the phone with them confirming my arrival at the GCH for Wednesday the 5th and they reminded me multiple times of the recent change. As of the first there is no longe a resort fee and guests will now be charged a $15 parking fee that covers two cars. This is the information I was given so if you get anything different please share. :)

Hmmm, I always valet at GCH but the others I self park. I hadn't heard this. :confused:So it was 12, right (plus tax). I know it's an insignifigant bump, but wish everything didn't keep going up. And we were never charged if we had a second vehicle there anyhow. What is valet now?

Thank you! I was wondering if it'd be worth pricelining a car, but with the parking fee no way. We need a car one day, so we'll get it in the morning, drop it off late afternoon/evening. And when we need to park at DLR, we'll park at downtown disney and get validation.

With the resort fee, you also got workout room privileges and internet connection. Are those a separate charge now, or are they included in your room charge?

Also for the poster who talked about the $15 parking for two cars... was there a different charge if you only have one car? Thanks!!!!

We are staying at GCH in March and will also need a car for one day. Are you renting one? If so, I would be curious to know where from and how easy it is to get the car picked up/dropped off etc.

TIA!

Our plan is to rent from the DTD Alamo, pick it up when the open and return it sometime in the evening. We probably will be driving around town a bit, so if we need to park to get to our hotel, use the DTD lot and get our parking validated (2 hours are free with validation I believe). Or, pay a bit if we need to, but I think we can stay under the hotel's $15.

Thanks! I will check into that location as I wasn't sure if there was a car rental near the property or not!

We will be staying at the GCH next week and will have a rental car. We will be upgrading our WDW APs to Premier APs, which have free parking at the parks (which we won't need), but I was wondering if that would include the hotels too. Does anyone know?

When we had APs we were not able to use our APs to get free parking at the hotels. Only at the parking structure/lots.

I just made our reservation at Grand Californian and the first thing she said was "there is now a $15 parking fee per night". I wasn't aware that was something new, this is our first trip to Disneyland after years of visiting WDW.

Yes, I'd like to know this also. Is internet now free?

I guess a AAA parkhopper with free parking would not help for the hotels?

The AAA parking is only good for the theme park garages, not the hotel garages. It's great if you're staying offsite and driving to the park, however.

I just got back from the Disneyland Hotel...stayed Jan. 2, 3, 4 and my checkout folio is showing a resort fee of $13.80 for Jan. 2 and 3, but no resort fee for Jan. 4. I didn't even notice this before! The 2011 prices seem to start as of Jan. 4 with regards to tickets and rooms so I'm assuming the no resort fee policy started on Jan. 4 as well. We didn't have a car so I can't comment on the parking fee.

I was speaking with an agent the other day who said parking is $15 and internet is now included in the nightly rate.

Does anyone know how much valet parking is? Would it be better to do valet vs self park?
