Anyone stayed at the WL Studios?

I'm trying to decide between a 1-bedroom villa and a studio at the Wilderness lodge for our next trip in 2009. It's myself, my wife, and my 8-year old daughter. I'm not too fussy about the view (of course the nicer the view the better) but I'm more concerned with comfort and noise levels. After a long day at the parks, I want to be able to sleep without excessive noise. Our last experience at WL was in a 2-bedroom villa in 2007 and it was almost silent at night. I'm just wondering if the studios would be the same way.

The villas building at WL is far quieter than the main lodge. We had a decent view on our last visit where we could see the pool and bay lake in the distance. I would highly suggest them for someone needing a good nights sleep!:)

A studio isn't much different than a hotel room. But you will only get one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa at VWL. Plus the microwave oven and slightly larger refrigerator. I'd go for the one bedroom. That's what we use when we stay there. Our son sleeps on the sleeper sofa (queen sized) and husband and I share the king bed.

I have found the one bedroom units to be very quiet, at least in the bedroom, especially if you close the bathroom and hallway doors at night. Between the walk in closet and the bathroom, you're pretty much insulated from the hallway, which helps a lot. I've also stayed in studios at VWL, and noise really wasn't an issue. But of course, all it takes is one family who uses their "outdoor" voices indoors to cause a problem.

According to the Unofficial Guide to WDW, the Wilderness Lodge gets a D for noise levels.

As for the Villas, they get an F.

I'd also recommend a 1 bdr over a studio. Studios are fine for a couple but the extra room with the one bedroom is much better for three. There is also the benefit of having a bedroom to yourselves.

Once our kids stopped napping or going to bed before us, we started staying in the studios, when we fit. The one bedroom was priceless when we went with a sleeping baby, but we don't need it now.

We stayed in a WLV studio on just our last trip. It was very nice. Thumbs up all around.
