Anyone Stayed At The Doubletree At Entrance To Universal Lately?

BTW, I was looking through my Unofficial Guide earlier and here's an interesting tidbit. Last year we stayed at the Doubletree Castle on our arrival night. It was a little gaudy but had great beds and towels. :) It was rated an 82 by the UG.3.5 stars For comparison, the BW Plaza received a 62 and 2.5 stars. The Doubletree at US received an 89 and 4 stars, and the CR and GF 93s and 4.5 stars each. Thought that might interest you.

I BOOKED the doubletree at US yesterday! Did you not see my big braggin post!??!?! :rotfl2:

Thanks so much! It's done and im ready to go now!.... so ready to go... ready to go NOW! :yay:

OOPS! All I saw was where you were THINKING of booking ;). Is there another post about booking??? Is this your first trip? We were there in October, it's fun if you go in there with no expectations. Don't compare everything to Disney and you'll be fine. Oh yeah, be prepared to GET WET at IOA! We spent the majority of one day soaked, especially after Popeye & Blutos Bilge Rats!

i know it's been awhile since i posted to this thread but it's getting so close!

anywho, can you wear ponchos on those water rides and not get that wet? when i went to disney a year ago we wear ponchos on a few rides and we faired "ok"... do a lot of ppl wear ponchos? i know i dont know anyone there but I dont want to look completely nuts.

we actually didn't have that much fun at disney, we finished the parks about 2 in the afternoon and had sore feet and nothing else to really do,,, i mean we rerode some rides and that was it.. we went in feb so there were NO PEOPLE there... it was nice, i would go in feb again, but this time i know it's going to be crazy and busy... but im hopeing we like US better. I think we will. This time we're goign to take it REAL slow and take our times... we have three FULL days to spend at US and IOA... more then enough time!

has anyone on the disboard stayed at Doubletree recently? would love GOOD feedback! hehe.

Jai :surfweb:
