We're looking for a place to stay the night before our cruise in July 04. Anyone have any suggestions? Is the Radisson a good place to stay? Is it clean? Do you know if they have handicap accessible rooms on the first floor? Thanks.

We were on a RCCL cruise this past February, and stayed at the Radisson. We liked it--kind of like a Marriot as far as the room goes. The pool/jacuzzi looked great, but we never swam. We took the shuttle over to the port the next morning (left our car there). One tip with the shuttle--book your shuttle time as early as possible. We arrived about 3:00 and got the time we wanted. Others who arrived later in the day or evening had to take the times that were left. It leaves every 1/2 hour, and only takes 5-10 minutes to get to the port. When we debarked, the shuttle was there waiting. We hopped right on, and were back to our car in no time. We were pleased with our experience.

Sue, were you able to leave your car at the Raddisson while you went on your cruise? Was there a fee?

Yes, they have a special area where you can park your car for the duration of your cruise. We did the cruise parking package, which costs a little more than just a room. I can't remember how much....but it was definitely cheaper than parking at the port. I have read that you don't have to do the package to use the shuttle, but it seemed like they were cracking down on this when we were there.
All of the info. can be found on the Raddisson.com web site.

We have stayed at the Radisson for our past two cruises...most recently the beginning of march.

It is clean, great area and we would stay there again.

Nice pool area also, they have a guy singing on friday afternoons before you take off..really gets you in the mood.

We have stayed at the Radisson twice and are staying there again this August. We have always had a great time - found the rooms and pool area to be very clean. They offer free shuttle and parking for cruisers no matter which room rate or package you book. I think right now you can get a $94 Florida special rate for a 1 night stay. I have always booked directly on the main Radisson website Good luck!!

We stayed there in January and had ANTS in our room. They were so bad that we had to move. The pool area was nice but the service wasn't that great and I don't think we'd stay there again.

We stayed in Feb. Nice, but I'm not sure I'll do it again. But I suspect I set myself up. I wanted to do a night at AKL and enjoy the pool and the Savannah, but was too cheap. So we stayed at the Radisson by the port instead, and....well, it wasn't Disney.

We stayed at the Radisson 2yrs ago the night before our cruise and we really liked it. We were there with 3 other familys (friends) and we had a great time at the pool the night before. The only problem I had was we were located away from the rest of our group and we were on the corner of the building near the front. BAD ROOM!!! All the traffic has to pass that room and we ended up yelling at some young drunks during the night that woke us up several times. Our friends had no problems with that because they were in a different location.
We will stay there again most likely, for the next cruise in December.

The Radisson is fine as hotels go. Just don't go expecting too much. I think the poster who said it isn't Disney said it all. The rooms are well worn and slightly tacky since it appears that they tried to update them without a major renovation. If you can get a great rate, you can stay there, but next time, we will probably check elsewhere!

How does the Radisson Port Canaveral hotel compare to the Marriot Courtyard at Cocoa Beach? The Marriott's rates seem to be about $15-20 more per night.

We stayed at the Radisson the night before our 3/6 cruise and we had ants in the sink in the bathroom. The room was fine for the night, but I wouldn't stay there for a week. I understand quite a few people have been staying at Ron Jon's.

We checked in late and our room also had ants, and was musty and a bit worn. Not horrible, but not some place I would particularly care to stay at in the future.

We stayed there in Jan 04 and really liked it. We upgraded to a two room suite and it was beautiful.....if you have two couples traveling I would strongly recommend it because it gives you a kitchenette and a great jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Our room had a king bed and then a queen sofa bed. I would stay again in a heartbeat. There was a large group of us and everyone really liked their stay. I never heard about any ants but perhaps we just got lucky. Everyone raved about the entertainment around the pool and the soup in the main restaurant....also the buffet on Friday night was excellent.
I have heard great things about Ron Jon's Resort and the new Holiday Inn Express...however I do not know their policy on leaving your vehicle.
