Any input on the La Quinta Inn at 8300 Jamaican Court? Is it quite, good breakfast, clean rooms, nice pool and hottub? Thank you.

Hello RMD- We stayed there 2 years ago. It was a very nice hotel. If you're familiar with the area ( International Drive ), it's right around the corner from the Friendly's restaurant. The hotel cost us 79.00 per night. They have an 800# that makes repeat calls to the hotel, for better price quotes, a lot cheaper. I even had my sister call from home using the 800# when she called me at the hotel. I found that the night staff was nicer and was more willing to get me the best rates. They have a nice free breakfast room set up for guests. All the basics, nothing too fancy. We didn't use the pool, too cold that day, the room was fine, mini fridge, micro, coffee maker. All in all a good place, but since I've gone about 5 times since then I've found hotels that give me alot more for the money. Are you set on La Quinta or just checking? Do a check on the search bar for HIFS (Holiday Inn Family Suites) I found it to have so much more to offer then La Quinta, better pool, better free breakfast, kids eat free lunch and dinner w/ adult, they have all suites and are geared for familys or couples. They have a special running, BOGO( buy 1 night-get 1 night) it brings the price to about 77.00 per. Good Luck with your decision.

mark & sandra,
how far is hifs from universal & seaworld?
thank you,
lisa

Hi LISALISA36- HIFS is on 536 about 5 min. to Disney's MK. It is off old exit 26 on I-4, Universal is off old exit 29 ( depending on traffic it's about a 10-15 min. drive. Seaworld is even closer to HIFS. All in all the 3 parks (Disney, Universal and Seaworld ) are no more then a 15 min. drive from any of the area hotels. Traffic on International Drive , where the La Quinta is located, becomes a nightmare on the weekends. It could take you about 30 min. to go just a couple of blocks. It's one of the reasons I first looked into HIFS. Are you renting a car? HIFS does have free shuttles to the parks, but I'd rather rely on my own transortation.

mark & sandra,
hello, we have 2 ressies made one is @ hifs and one at howard johnson on int drive.
we do have a car,,,and are only going to universal parks and sea world and some other local attractions ,,,i wanted to be close to universal,,,the ho jo ressie is much cheaper and closer and they also have shuttles and breakfast and we have a kid suite there also.
last year we had a house by splendid china and it seemed to take 4-ever to get to universal... i hope i dont make a mistake by not staying at hifs but we are saving over 500.00 dollars.
thank you for your info and any other will be helpful.
lisa
