Hello all...some info please....has anyone stayed at Howard Johnson Maingate East in Kissimmee? We are flying in on January 21, 2006 late in the evening...staying at Beach Club for 2 nights....but need a clean room to sleep the night we arrive....and the price at HoJo is right for a night....anyone who has stayed there we would appreciate any feedback....is it clean? Are the rooms comfortable?
Thank you for any and all info....

I don't know if this will help or not.

a year or so ago some ladies came on here and defended this place - they were staying there and say they would return with a trip report.

they didn't. :confused3

So I hope it is a nice place for you.

It's....well....it's a room. If it's only for one night it may be worth it. I wouldn't spend two weeks there, though.

We stayed there for three nights back in March. It was definitely not the most deluxe of accommodations but it was clean enough and didn't kill us. I wouldn't want to make it a longer stay than that. It wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed in, but it was far from the best, either.

Our room was run down and a bit musty, but we saw no vermin or anything nasty like that. My trusty travel can of cucumber melon airfreshener that I travel with made it liveable. The beds were a little hard, if I am remembering correctly.

I have heard other people say that they had problems with the door locks though- ours was fine and locked securely, but definitely check that out and inspect the room thoroughly when you check in- I get the impression that some rooms are worse than others.

It was pretty convenient to the parks and near a big Publix and a Walgreens, which came in very handy for us- we were able to stock up on breakfast food, sodas, etc.

It wouldn't be my first choice for a return visit, but if I needed a cheap place for crash space for a night and the price was right, I'd stay again.
