We are taking the kids to Hershey for 4 days at the very end of June, and will be staying at the Hershey Lodge on June 28 and 29. Has anyone stayed there? Did you enjoy it? We will be going to the park for two days, and were planning to just hang around Hershey and possibly hit the Civil War Museum for the other two days. Any suggestions?

We stayed there about 4-5 years ago and were really disappointed. It was very expensive over 200 a night and it just wasn't worth the $$. It was OK nothing special and in need of updating when we were there.

The last time we went there, 2 years ago, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which was less then 1/2 the cost of the lodge, a lot nicer and just down the street. Hershey is our 2nd favorite theme Park next to WDW, of course. ;)

Do a search. There was a thread about this recently. I've stayed there before and I'm staying again in May. Yes, it probably is overpriced for other hotels in the area but the location is good. You get transportation to the parks too. They have a lot of activities such as BINGO for chocolate and arts and crafts. They have an indoor pool. The lobby has a nice big fireplace with chairs around it. Our rooms were just fine. I've never looked to see what else is in the area. I usually choose a hotel for proximity to activities and the ammenities the hotel offers.

We stay at the Hershey Lodge every other year for Thanksgiving. It's nice...but nothing like THE LODGE(WL). It is however, the 2nd nicest hotel in Hershey(Hotel Hershey is incredible)! We love spending time near the beautiful fireplace, the restaurants in the hotel are good and the hotel itself is clean. Can't comment on the pool because it is usually 40 degrees when we go. There are some great outlet shopping closeby, a zoo and of course Chocolate World! Also, Hotel Hershey has horseback riding in the summer.

We stayed there around Christmas time 2002. We liked the hotel..as mentioned the lobby is great. It also has 4 restaurants plus coffee and gift shops. We ate mostly in “the den” a sports/kids type restaurant. Yes the hotel is a little pricey. They also had crafts/activities for the kids everyday.. It is also a convention center, when we were there someone was having their wedding reception in one of the halls.

Here is the Hershey web site if anyone needs it:

Hi

I agree with you!
Hershey Lodge is great! We started going 6 years ago, now it's a "tradition"---
The day the kids get out school for the Summer, we head to Hershey, Hershey Lodge is wonderful, so much to do, near everything! We have done all the Zoo, The Trolley Tour, The Rose Garden, went to Lancaster to see the farm/Amish communities.
So much to do!

You'll have a great time!
Enjoy!
