Our family stayed here in '02 and '03 -- 2-bedroom units both times -- older area in '02, newer area '03 -- older units slightly larger -- newer unit had no balcony and slightly smaller, but more modern.
We're headed back this August and wanted to hear from anyone who has stayed there recently.
We know the location can't be beat.
We remember the poolside snack bar/alcohol bar and thought it was cute. But after having seen other more extensive outdoor resort restaurant/bars, we're surprised this one hasn't been updated. Any opinions on whether it served your family's needs? I remember they had frozen tropical drinks with no alcohol for the kids.
I also read about a salt water pool. We remember the large main pool -- I assume this was back toward the newer section. Did anyone find it enjoyable, or nothing special?
Thanks a lot -- any and all comments welcome!

We stayed there last April..and enjoyed our stay very much...We thought the salt water pool was the main pool. We stayed in building 700 which is one of the older units right near the pool.

The unit itself was not brand nw, however, it was clean and we enjoyed the space very much.

The kids game room was nice, but didn't have a ton of things to do.. and it was hot in there. There is a small store in the lobby that had the necessities, but was very expensive....

The liitle snack shop/bar by the pool had ok fast food and really good drinks...

We really enjoyed Silver Lake and have stayed at several other resorts but liked this one the best..Have fun:thumbsup2
