Anyone stay at Regal Palms?

Wondering if anyone has any experiences with Regal Palms. We are considering on staying there in Feb 2009. Good or Bad experiences.

I've stayed there.

I really liked it. The thing you have to remember, is that it's a house. There is no maid cleaning, so you have to clean the house yourself. It will be cleaned before and after your stay. A lot of American's complain that the houses are not cleaned when they stay there.

The pool area is lovely and clean, and the food at the resort was lovely, although a little pricy.

Have a look at tripadvisor for the reviews. I have one posted there. Some people do complain about the air-con and the phone not working. We never had a problem with either. Our hairdryer broke when we were there, I went to receiption told them about it and 30 mins later a new one arrived.

If you are doing a private rental, send me a Pm and I will send you a link to the guy I rented from. He lives in the UK, and owns 4 or 5 houses or Regal Palms.

It takes around 20 mins to AK, and 30 mins to MK. Good access to the I4 going North and South. We used the shortcut at Champions Gate.

The Americans and Canadians like to stay as close to the pool as possible. We just got into the car and drove. It was too hot to drive!! Ask for a house away from Sand Mine Road, as this gets noisy with the trucks that go to the quarry.

Also check out a site called the DIBB. It's for UK people, but a lot of peeps have stayed at Simon's house on there. Try a search under Regal Palms. It also has links to people who rent out too.

The price has gone up considerably, but they were excellent to work with and the location was very close to the pool. Maybe they would be willing to go lower than what they advertise, it doesn't hurt to ask.
I would stay here again, especially if I got a good price.
