Anyone stay at Orlando Airport Hyatt night before cruise?

As far as I know the rate per night does not cover any of the cost to the port, but maybe others will chime in. I have it booked in April before our cruise and had planned on paying the Disney transfer fees...

We love the Hyatt, DH won't let me book anything else pre-cruise. We book the transfers directly with Disney, I am not aware of any room rate that includes them.

I don't think the Disney transport to the port is included in a Hyatt stay.I haven't seen that anywhere. I have seen that the Hyatt makes the process seamless. We were not planning to do the Disney transfer, though. We were going to book privately through FL Tours: http://www.fltours.com/. $270 for round trip for 6 people, versus $420 through Disney. I think we can also specify times that way too.

How did you get your luggage picked up when you arrived. I assume Hyatt took care of it. How did you arrange this

Oh my, I'm sorry - my message is confusing - I was typing quickly and didn't put my thoughts together very well. Ooops. What I meant was we got off the plane and got our luggage and then walked to the hotel and then dinner. We just left our bags in the room to deal with later because our kids were going batty and needed to move about. After we had time to be off a plane and enjoy walking around, our bags were waiting for us. I do believe that the hotel will pick up your luggage if you are with a participating airline...I'm not positive on that though. We flew Southwest and I don't believe they are a partner...but I could be wrong on that.

Yeah, its a bit more money but after some of the pre/post hotel experiences we've had I think its worth the money. The cruise it expensive on its own, so not worth skimping on the first night hotel. IMO the first night can set the theme for the whole trip.

Erin ... We do this every trip. Make sure you get the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport... There's a Hyatt Regency in Orlando and a couple of different Airport Hyatts for their different brands...

The one in the airport is great. They'll pick up your bags at luggage carousel for $10 and bring them to your room. Also, one thing to think about is that with 4 or more people, you normally break even on a private transfer instead of the DCL Bus. If you go with the bus, the Hyatt with take care of getting your bags to DCL

We stay at the Hyatt every time we fly into Orlando the night before a cruise. Rooms are very nice, quiet. We usually eat at McCoy's Restaurant there at the Hyatt. Very good food. When you check in, tell them that you are going on a Disney cruise, and they will give you a paper about luggage pick-up the next morning. You don't have to worry about your luggage from that time on. Also, the room/reservation we get has the breakfast buffet included, which makes it nice. After breakfast we go back to our room, wait on the staff to come and get our luggage then go down to the buses to go to PC.

You are correct. You must purchase the ground transfers from DCL in advance. The hotel has nothing to do with those.

There is no charge for the hotel porters to pick up your luggage in the morning for it to be delivered to the ship.

Summary of the Hyatt luggage process:

1. Check in at the Hyatt. If you want to, you can have their bell service team pick up your luggage from baggage claim and bring it to your hotel room. This costs extra and is separate from the cruise luggage handling process.

2. Tell the check-in person that you are going on a Disney cruise. They will enter a note in their computer system, which puts you on a list so that bell services knows to come around the next morning to get your bags.

3. They will also give you a 1 page letter with information about where to go in the morning. This letter also has an area to fill out with your name, Hyatt room number, ship, stateroom number, and number of bags you are having picked up.

3. Go to your room and enjoy your evening. At some point, fill out the form I mentioned above and put your luggage tags on your luggage.

4. In the morning, by 8:30 AM, have your bags ready to go just inside your hotel room door. The porters will come around beginning at 8:30 AM. When we did it last week, they came by around 9:20 AM. You do not have to be in the room for them to take the bags. If you are on the list, they will open the door and if they see bags right there with DCL tags on them, they will take them

5. When you are ready to go, go down to the Disney's Magical Express depot (side B, level 1). The Cruise Line check-in area is clearly marked and there are also Disney cast members there to direct you. You will need your DCL travel document book that you are sent a few weeks before sailing. The barcodes on the inside of the front cover are your proof that you paid for ground transfers.

6. GIVE THEM THE FORM YOU FILLED OUT THAT THE HYATT GAVE YOU. They check these forms against the luggage that the Hyatt brings down to them to make sure they have all the bags. By giving them this form, your luggage cannot be left behind.

Boom. Enjoy your ride to Port Canaveral without a worry in the world.

We stayed there prior to our DCL cruise and hotel is perfect. So easy and after almost 27 hour travel time (from Australia) it's nice to know once you land in Orlando that's it!
love the vibe of the hotel being in the airport above security check. Which makes this hotel pretty unique
It's a amazing juxtaposition between the relaxing nature of the hotel and the hustle of a very busy airport
rooms can overlook into the airport or out over the runways
we requested a runway view...and it was pretty cool to sit and watch the planes land and take off.

might be a bit more than other area hotels
but it's worth it!

Another vote for the Hyat MCO! I just booked our night before for March 2016. It is so easy and convenient and might I say worry free.

I can tell you the Hyatt is the way to go. I'm sitting by the pool currently waiting for my Dream cruise in the AM.

I love the restaurant in the Hyatt. Think it's called McCoy's. Awesome dinner after flying in and love their breakfast before we head out to port on the morning.
