The rate for our time frame looks pretty good for what we need. Just looking for other peoples experiences.

Haven't stayed at the Homewood in Anaheim, but it is the chain of choice when I travel with my Wife and Daughter, and we haven't been disappointed yet.

Not that it answers your question, but for Homewood locations in CA that we have stayed at, I can vouch for the Homewood in Carlsbad (for those who are going to Legoland) and the Palomar location in San Diego (near the airport and Sea World).

We stayed there in 2008 and 2009 and greatly enjoyed it. We don't choose it anymore because we've experienced the joy of staying in walking distance. They have a shuttle now, so I would possibly give it another try. Can't beat the deluxe hot breakfast and complimentary grocery shopping (saves us a ton on food)!

Thanks for the replies and the link.

How does the grocery delivery work? Do you get to choose the store? How do you know the price of the groceries and the items they have available?

Stayed at the Homewood suites last October and loved it! Rooms are nice and big, staff is amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was good, fills up fast so go early. The dinner buffet is alright. The only concern I have is the pay shuttle service they provide (not ART) is not very reliable. Getting to the park is easy, returning back to the hotel is chaos. Try to get a room facing the pool area, street side is very noisy. Also there is a Fire Station near by and all we heard was the fire engine going to emergencies all trip long. Target is basically across the street and it is walking distance for sure. Would I stay here again? Yes, but the shuttle did it in for us. Now we're planning a trip for this fall again, we would rather stay across the street from disneyland for convenience vs waiting a hour + for a shuttle to arrive.*

We stayed in early April.

Pros: We saved a ton on food. Pretty full breakfast area & light dinner (4x/week.) We really only had to worry about lunch. We stopped by Target across the street to buy some food/snacks, so we really saved a lot on food this trip.

Cons: Shuttle. They share a shuttle with the Marriott? HS is the first stop on the way to the park, so getting to the park isn't a problem (there was one morning where Marriott people weren't able to board the shuttle.) However, if you're going home past 9:30 pm, it's very stressful. There isn't an exact stopping point for the shuttle and all the hotels shuttles stop there. You're worried the entire time that you may not be able to board the shuttle. Luckily we were able to always get on, but it's a stress I'd rather not deal with again.

It was our 3rd trip in 5 months, so we thought we'd give it a try. However, I think we'll go back to staying within walking distance.

You don't choose the store. You just note what you want (as specific as you want, so brand name or "cheapest option"). You turn in the sheet in the evening before or morning (I think by 9 am) and later that day you have a kitchen stocked with your supplies. They charge the groceries to your hotel bill and leave the receipt on the desk in the room. So, we asked for name brands or approximate prices when I requested and I planned before we left what I'd prefer so I'd know to tell them "hillshire farm turkey lunchmeat", "wheat bread for about $2". I was never unhappy with the purchasing choices they made or the quality of the food.
