Anyone stay at any if the Downtown Disney resorts??

Stayed at Royal Plaza before it was destroyed by the hurricane, it was okay, decent room price ($99 over spring break), rooms were pretty spacious, decent toiletries (Bath & Body Works). Housekeeping was bad and our location was noisy (interstate noise) but it was decent for the money. Bus service was pretty bad if I remember.

I've stayed at Grosvenor a long time ago, we were in a room in one of the wings that opened to the outside. It was o.k. Room was old.

I've stayed at the Wyndham Palace which is now the Buena Vista Palace. It was very nice, very clean and had a nice pool area. There have been some good reviews lately, since the hotel has renovated all their rooms.

I've stayed at the Hilton Downtown Disney as well, 2 times off of Priceline, also a very clean, nice hotel, nice pool area.

If you go to MOUSESAVERS.COM you can read a trip review/report of the Hotel Royal Plaza since the renovations.

Hope that helps!

Been a while, but we've stayed at Grovsner and HRP. I thought Grovsner was pretty dumpy and that was probably 10 years ago! If they haven't done a rehab since they're in dire need of one.

We stayed at HRP prior to the hurricane damage and we actually like it. Our room was on the Hotel Plaza Blvd side so the noise level was low. They were doing remodeling in the lobby area then. I know they've done lots of rehabbing since the hurricane and have heard great things about it since. We also liked the little restaurant downstairs (if it's still there). They had a great breakfast!

My db and family stayed at the Doubletree last year and liked that one as well. Don't know about the Best Western but I do remember when that was the Travelodge. I know it was a "no frills" type of hotel then, not sure what it's like now.

My family always stays at Best Western and we always like it. The rooms are always clean and they are large rooms with a balcony that includes table and chairs. It doesn't get the best reviews on tripadvisor but we always stay there and it is cheaper than the others. We got a rate of 95 for a disney view. THe good part is that outside the bathroom is a miror and shelf area that is a really good vanity area. No sink outside but the shelf part is really useful, especially if you have three women in one room. There is a six dollar resort fee that you can't get out of beacsue I have heard many people fighting saying that they didn't know about it. The pool is nice there and the good part is it unoficially stays open all night. If you have any other questions just PM me.

Just got back from the Grosvenor at the end of Dec and it was pretty nice, now. AND they are doing renovations. I found the bed super comfy and housekeeping did a wonderful job (God Bless them, with my 3 monsters!), and we really enjoyed our breakfast there our last morning (Goofy and Pluto were there).

I WOULD suggest staying in a tower room, though.

I have stayed at the Grosvenor, Best Western and the then Holiday Inn. All were ok for the money, but I liked the Grosvenor the best. We had a tower room and it definitely had a deluxe feel. Big room, well appointed with fridge. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they brought us champagne and flutes as a surprise one evening. The best thing about the resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd is the location. The Grosvenor was the closest to DD. After a day in the parks we would walk across the street to Ghiradelli's for an ice cream cone. The only reason we don't stay here any longer is because we like the dining plan which requires staying in a WDW resort.

Booked a room inside Best Western Lake Buena Vista on a high floor facing Downtown Disney and got a fantastic view of the lights and fireworks.
