Anyone stay at a resort while construction/refurb was going on?

I'll note that MANY make this request during renovation. Not everyone gets it. Do not rely on a request to protect you from renovation effects!

Does anyone have any idea how extensive the renovations are at the Wilderness Lodge and how disruptive it would be to stay in the villas?

The VWL pool is completely closed, and due to start rebuild soon. 25 lakefront cabins are being started. One whole wing of the Lodge is closed and gutted. View is not a bookable category at VWL, and half the rooms have significant construction view.

Thanks, _auroraborealis_! Sounds like the construction is pretty intense. I think I'll opt for Saratoga or Old Key West instead.

Agreed - a request is always just that, a request. And sometimes a request doesn't really help. The worst reno I went through at WDW was one at VWL ironically enough. They closed a whole floor at a time and they were working on the third floor (right in the middle) the week I was there. That was the one that shook the furniture and was so loud I had to wear earplugs just to be in the room during the day. It sounded like they were using jackhammers to bust up the floors or something. But I got such a good rate, and I was out of the room most days when they were working, that it was worth it to me. It certainly wouldn't have been conducive to afternoon napping!
