Anyone Stay AKV Concierge Yet?

Just curious if anyone has utilized their points for an AKV Concierge stay yet? If so, were you pleased with the service, food etc?

My family and I have not stayed there yet but we plan on spending our trip there in October for Halloween and Food and Wine Festival and we all can't wait.

Oh by the way we are also plan on using our points to stay in a two bedroom concierge level villa.

I am taking my kids and grandkids in Sept. we have a 1 bedroom and 2 studios we can hardley wait.

We are staying in a concierge studio in July (just me and DH) and I booked a 2BR concierge in October for everyone.

I have talked to the concierge staff twice on the phone and 3 times by email. EXCELLENT! I mostly spoke with Don, who is just a gem. Great service and a nice guy to boot.

One tip: They will take your CC so they can make CC guaranteed ADR's for you, book tours, etc. if you want. DO NOT email your CC info. If you don't hear from them by about 200 days prior to your trip, shoot them an email, but do not include CC info. Their email address is not secure. They will call you for the information.

If you don't hear anything by 200 days out, email them. Don did say they were not getting all the information sent over to them all the time from MS. For example, he did get all of the info for me for July, however, with our October reservation, they only sent my name and the room size. He needed to enter in my mom, DH, the kids and their ages.

Just an fyi- I was doing some poking around on the internet this AM and ran across numerous reviews for the concierge level at AKL. If you want to check them out, I found them on allears.net. They are not specifically DVC stay related but still good reading.

Anyway, that is the right one you posted, scottie, because when I clicked on it in your post, it brought up my outlook with "AKL concierge" in the TO box, which means it matches the one I have been emailing back and forth with them on.

I usually hear back from them within a few hours, even on the weekend.

I stayed cash concierge in December for a night before our cruise. I won't be staying on points until April.

Yes, I was pleased with the service and the food.

I think the room locations for cash concierge are much better than the points rooms, however. We had a wonderful 4th floor room overlooking Arusha rock in December. I know concierge on points won't be anywhere near that quality of view, even if it is savanna view.

Hi, hubby and I stayed AKVC and loved it. even though it was just for the 2 nights, we felt it was worth the extra points. Food offerings were great. The only fault I found was that the shower area (which also had the toilet) was so very tiny. I am only 5'1" and had a hard time turning around in that part of the bathroom, guess I am just used to OKW and the BIG bathroom. all in all would stay again but wait for the new area to be built. we were on the 6th floor right next to the Food offerings. by the way we were in a studio. any questions please feel free to ask..Marianne

I'm glad to hear you had a great stay. Can you tell me a little bit more about the lounge offerings (what they were)? I'm so excited for our stay in May.

We are planing to stay concierge at AKV for the first time in October.

I'm very excited... I just booked the sunset safari for us tonight for our February trip! We were just going to do the sunrise, but then I decided this sounded too cool to pass up, and I don't know when we'll stay concierge again. I think we'll probably do savanna view most of the time after this.
