Anyone split entrees at Prime Time Cafe?

Looking at the food photo thread, it looks like DS11 and I could split the fried chicken--it's three pieces? Or is there something else there that's splittable?

DS and I split the pot roast. If you tell your waiter that you are splitting the meal, they will do it for you in the kitchen. I highly recommend splitting--the portions are huge.

Yes - we've split the chicken a couple of times between two adults and it's plenty of food.

Note that some of the entrees are distinctly more reasonable (smaller, i.e., perfect for one normal-sized person) than in previous years. I noticed this specifically with the pork chops and the meatloaf. I suspect that will spread to the rest of the menu, over time, and to other restaurants as well.

The size of the entrees at Prime Time has been reduced. I used to get the meatloaf or fried chicken and couldn't finish half of it. In October we went there and the food was about half what it used to be. There is no way we would have shared unless we wanted to walk away hungry. Even the desserts were much smaller.

I agree with the previous poster...unless you want to walk away hungry, don't split here. We always clean our plate at 50's...even my 15 year old DD who is a "very light eater".

The photos I saw must have been before they reduced the portion sizes. Honestly, I don't see how any one person could have eaten everything on some of those plates!

The portions in prime time are not that big. They are just the right size for one person. Hubby and I had pot roast and chicken. Just the right size...would not have been enough for sharing.

Wow, either I have the smallest tummy either or they reduced the dishes after we ate there last in Sept because DH and I split the chicken and left food behind - it was HUGE.

FIL and MIL split the pot roast and it was, again, way large enough for them to share.

Things must have changed since Sept!

We were there in February (2007).

I agree -- last visit Feb. 07. I got the chicken. It came with 2 pieces (white meat) and one spoonful of mashed potatoes and one spoonful of corn. While someone could share a piece of chicken, the potatoes and corn were not shareable as they were gone in 3 bites. Once upon a time.....you did get larger portions, but not anymore. The pot roast was a piece of beef about the size of a deck of cards over a scoop of mashed potatoes, nothing else. The ony thing I've seen shareable is the chicken, but again, you would have to order some side items unless you plan to just chomp down on a piece of chicken and nothing more. The portions seem to be getting smaller and smaller, which is OK with me, since it saves me room for desert. We don't share, never have, never will. If I'm not too hungry, I get a kids' meal or a salad. Sharing with hubby or any of my adult kids is not an option for us....just like the seagulls at the living seas...."mine, mine, mine"!

My youngest DD and I split the chicken one year. We told our "Aunt" what we wanted to do and she brought the meal out to us on two different plates already divided up.

The fried chicken used to come with 4 pieces of chicken. Now it comes with 2. The meatloaf used to come with 3 large slabs. Now that has been reduced to two smallish pieces. I remember the days when the entrees were huge.
No more!

Thanks for the heads up! We have ARD's for Prime Time for lunch and Sci Fi for dinner. I was planning on splitting at Prime Time as we are on DDP. I thought that there would be too much food if we had 3 apps, 3 entrees and 3 desserts twice in one day.

We ate at the Primetime this week and I had 3 pieces of chicken on my plate, just like it has always been every time I ordered the fried chicken (which I do every time because it is delicious!!!) There were more than a spoonful of mashed potatoes and green beans (I asked for and got a sub for Southern greens). I've never been able to eat all three pieces of chicken my self.

Boy am I glad you said that. I was there in Feb and thought the pot roast was just the right portion. I have heard so many people say the portions are huge and I was starting to think that maybe I was, well, being a pig. :lmao:
