This is a three part question really, I am booking excursions and thought snorkling over the shipwreck callie could be cool, then I wondered if anyone has done this excursion and if they liked it, and then I wondered if the callie is still there after the hurricane and then I wondered, do I even bother [prebooking grand cayman excursions?

I snorkled over the wreck of the callie last november while on an RCI cruise. It was pretty neat.. your not very far off the coast of GC but the water was probably 30 feet deep or so.

We too snorkeled while over the Callie this past January, it was very interesting. It is very close to the cruise dock and we had a great time. I would recommend giving it a try.

I did the Shipwreck Snorkel last September. I loved it. You are right in the bay where the cruise ships are anchored. I got a terrific picture of the Magic.

I suppose if you are a strong swimmer you could reach the Callie from shore. I thought the boat was worth it though because they took us to a reef first where there were lots of fish, and then to the shipwreck. I saw an octopus in the wreck.

We were on the last tender back to the ship, but since it was a Disney excursion they waited for us.
