Anyone sign up for AMEX Pass card yet?

I started to sign up last night, but it asked for my SS#. I was concerned that I was on the right Website.
Anyone know?

Maybe I should just call and do it over the phone...

Yes, I signed up last night. It states that they need the paren't SS# for identification purposes. Also, you cannot sign up over the phone, it has to be done online. I was concerned too, but I went to slickdeals and read the comments there, if anything is a scam they are not shy about telling you (or bashing the poor OP of the thread).
I was more concerned about entering all my banking info since Im not funding it by an AmEx card so I just made sure I updated my virus protection and did full scans with both.

I ordered a card for DD when there was the $25 bonus. We just got her card a few days ago and wish I had waited for the $50 bonus. Oh well, live and learn.

DD loves the card. She is able to use it at about 90% of the places we have gone to and I love that she has her own money and i don't have to worry about her over spending when she is out with friends. It's also a great money management tool for her. I love loading her allowance on to the card one month at a time. no need to worry about having cash to give her allowance money.

I do want her to ahve some cash on hand so she gets 3 weeks allowance on the card and 1 week in cash but overall the 2 weeks we have had it have been great!

Yeah. . .I posted about this on another thread. I'm in for 3. Apparently there was a similar offer for $25 like the PP said. The thread on FW comfirms that its legit and people are getting their bonuses.

My concern is that is says your name has to match the name on the mailer in order to receive the bonus. Since I did not receive a mailer I am concerned that I would not be eligible for the bonus.

Oooohh, I totally read that wrong. I was thinking that meant the person that the card is mailed to. See what happens when you do stuff like this after midnight Oh well, I'll still load it with cash and give it to dd.

I was going to order when I first saw the post this morning. The only thing that stopped me was I couldn't figure out what picture I wanted on it. It wasn't till I got to work and was talking to someone else about it that I noticed the part about the mailer. I may still get them for my girls and see how they work since there is no fee to activate and the monthly fee is waived.

I figure If I end up getting the extra 50 then great! If not I didn't loose anything.

I just called amx Passcard # and told them that i ordered 3 for each of my kids and asked what the pass mailing was. She said as long as you used the pass5 on checkout and refill prior to Nov. 30, they would all get the $50 bonus. Hope this helps

Sounds interesting..but what happens after Oct. 2011? Will I be charged $3.95 (or whatever it is) per month? That's almost $50 for the year.
