anyone sick this week in Disney

I just got home last night after leaving Dis at 1am from the BW to NJ...it took me 17 hours with a 1 1/2 hour stop to sleep....i had to get home asap because starting Monday my daughter was sick with some type of virus..than I got it wed and thurs..my niece got it thurs...my sis inlaw friday night along with her infant twins and other dau got it hours before they were flying out...what a nightmare...now my son got it last night and my wife is next and my bro in law will probably get it..what a terrible vacation...and i knew when i was driving i was fighting the clock against my son or wife getting sick..luckiliy he didnt sick in the car...Does anyone know of anyone else that was sick down there last week...i feel sorry for the family that is getting our 2br..rm 2113-2115....

Just wanted to say how sorry I am about all that sickness your family had while you were away. That really is awful. The last two trips, knock on wood, we were all ok, but before that it always seemed someone would have some kind of illness. Since we fly, we would often think it was something we caught while on the plane. Oh well.

I do hope you never have to experience that kind of trip again. So sorry.

That really stinks, sorry about your vacation. I know how that can ruin a vacation. We has a similiar experience last January, my 2 yr old son was so sick we had to take him to the ER. Poor little guy needed an IV and a suppository every 4 hrs (ouch). 2 days later he was feeling better, then 5 yr old daughter gets it. She starts feeling better then Dad gets it. It was really a bummer. We tried to tell the housekeeping several times and even called the front desk to tell to really air out our 1 bedroom at OKW, but it didn't seem like they really cared, just "oh yeah, we clean all the units well." The hospital (it was the one in Celebration) says they get LOTS of this type of thing.

So sorry to hear that you were all so sick on your vacation. I am a pediatric nurse and I can tell you that more than half of my phone calls last week were regarding "the stomach bug" that is going around. I hope that you at least got some fun time out of your stay.

I remember several years ago, my partner accompanied his daughter with the HS marching band, where they got to play at half time at the College Football National Championship (the Fiesta Bowl, as I recall). For him, the high point of the trip was that nearly all the members of the marching band got sick with gastroenteritis. He said he was very popular at the hotel the night before they returned, calling in prescriptions for phenergan. That must have been some plane ride home; I would hate to have either been an innocent bystander or on the next flight on that particular plane.

Yes, DW was sick. She started to throw up at MVMCP on tues. night. we had to leave at around 8. The last place she ate was Pecos and had the chicken wrap. (which she has always enjoyed in the past). after 2 am and she could not hold water down we went to the ER at Celebration. She had two bags of fluid and was given some "fin-er-gen" (I don't know how to spell it). They thought it was a virus and not a food poision. She was out of it wed and thurs. We did not do the parks. Went back friday for a light day at MK 9-4. She just sat and watched Wynonna while we rode some rides. She feels better now. Will give a trip report later.

We just returned from OKW yesterday, glad to say that we had no sickness with our group, 6 adults and 4 children under 7 years of age. Some other people where not so lucky though, talked to a lady that broke her wrist real bad at MVMCP, there was also a lady that took a spill at the South Point Pool, broke her ankle, she had just arrived and was waiting for her room!
What an awful way to start a vacation!!!

We just returned tonight from a week at VWL. Both of my sons (ages 6 and 14 came cown with a virus/illness during the week. With cold medicine they were able to go to the parks and have fun, but were not themselves .

Sorry to hear you were ill -- that has gotto be the pits, being sick away from home, especially when it also "infects" your plans.

golfnut1264- so sorry to hear about the family all coming down with a virus on your vacation ! Hope you guys are better real soon ! I always know that when one member of my family starts , were ALL in for it!! Last time it skipped over me, thank God, I was the designated " Florence Nightingale " ,for even the extended family who visited and got sick, but they all came through it ok in the end!

gopherit- I read your story, and was so sorry your thanksgiving was visited with the same illness. God bless you, you can seem to find a humorous moment (no matter what the situation)!! I just love to read anything you write! anyway, I hope your family is back to normal as well!!

We were there from T-day until 12/1. I have to say that my stomach was queasy most of the time. Nothing really bad but enough that I noticed more frequent bathroom stops. Dd was off a little also. No other symptoms tho. We were there last Dec and dd was horribly sick for 4 of 6 days we were there.

We try to keep our hands off railings and then try to use that purell hand wash stuff. Fingers off the face...that kind of thing. WDW sure is a nasty place to not feel well in.

We aren't sick at WDW this week .. but just wait till next week! Take my daughter away from home and she gets sick .. every time!

We're not at WDW this week....but my family has been fighting off viruses for what seems like the last 6 weeks (we did get a break and were feeling well for Thanksgiving). We head to WDW on Sunday and you wouldn't believe the amount of vitamins and herbs I've been pumping into us all. I think I might finally be getting over it...along with the baby.

I've been sick at WDW too many times...its not fun and I don't want to do it again! I think I'll be obsessive about handwashing and I might have to get a couple of those pocket sized bottles of hand sanitizer...and I vow not to touch anything!
