Anyone segmented this way before?

I have a segmented reservation coming up which looks like this:

8/3-8/6 WLV with our DVC points and dDDP
8/6-8/7 WLV cash reservation and Premium plan
8/7-8/9 WVL with our DVC points and DDP
8/9-8/17 OKW with our DVC points and DDP

My question: Has anyone had a cash reservation in the middle of their DVC stay and how did it work out? When I called DVC to link everything, she said that she could not see our cash reservation. She noted it on the account and I'm going to call the regular Disney number to ask them to note on the cash reservation that we also have a DVC reservation linked.

I don't mind having to go down and switch room keys to accomodate the different dining plans. I just don't want to switch rooms until it is time for our second week over at OKW.

Thanks!

Points and cash reservations from Disney are separate and because of that, they can not be linked together. That is why MS can't see it.

Your only hope is to remind them at check in and hope for the best. Unfortunately, I have read that people who were on DVC points and then switched to a cash room, indeed were made to move rooms.

I would also go down the night before the switch and ask again if there is a way you can stay in the same room.

Good luck!

I'm guessing you didn't book the cash room through DVC? If you had, they would be able to see it because they would have booked it for you. I would talk to them at check-in and then stop back the night before your cash reservation starts, and then again before the points one starts again. Even ask for a manager at check-in if the CM doesn't seem to be able to ensure you won't have to move rooms. There is no reason you should have to move. You'll be saving them from having to clean the room as well.

No, unfortunately I didn't. A friend who works for AAA said she could get a lower price so I went with her. When I checked it out later, the prices were the same, but If I cancelled the AAA reservation, there was a 25.00 pp cancellation fee:sad2:

I'll make sure I talk to them at check in and the night before.
Thanks!

But you still may have to move. Be prepared if that happens. You'll be homelss most of the day.

We have done this at both OKW and BCV and have never had to change rooms. We booked our cash nights thru CRO with an AP or military rate and asked them to notate that it was part of a continuing reservation with DVC. Then, we asked MS to annotate our points ressies the same way. We reminded them at check in, and we were able to stay in the same room the entire time!
