Anyone seen what the EP prices for Spring Break look like lately?

for my two days that we are going - we could have booked two days of EP for $1022 (two of us) or $437 for a throwaway at RPR.

That is more than my nightly room rate at Portofino Bay (with the AP discount). We are not going until May, but even with a lower rate for EP, we are still better off at the premiere hotel. Thanks to those on this board who gave advice.

I'm apparently going during the start of spring break. :headache: So its worth it for us.

Ya, if you have more than 2 people going (for at least two days), it almost always makes sense to just get the room. If you have 5 (max for the rooms), it's an insanely good deal to get the hotel room.

If they are fully booked, and you mention at checking that you won't be staying the night, they sometimes offer you a 'parlor suite' which doesn't include a bedroom for cheaper. It is the living area of a suite. So, they break a suite up into a regular room and a parlor.

Hm. I wonder if this will still work if I've not booked directly with Universal. Maybe they would offer a resort credit that I could use in the parks...because as of today, they are "fully" booked for my dates.

You can still get APH rooms for $400-500, so someone would either have to be solo for a single day or pretty bad at math to pay that price :)

Are there minimum stays? Over Thanksgiving and Christmas there were.

I was looking at Apr 3-9, since that was our kids Spring Break. I checked for a couple single days and there were some that didn't have APH rates for a single night (needed a second night for it to show up), but others did allow a single night stay.

Crazy EP is 2X park entry ticket... but if people keep paying, they will keep raising the prices. Remember when Universal was the 'affordable' and 'easier' option to Disney ? Of course Disney drove everyone to Universal.

Remember days of wondering why people would by Express Passes... there were no major waits.

April will be only our third time at Universal, but we've never tried without the premier hotels. We'll be there for 5 nights in April and got a HRH room for $330/n on the AP discount. For a family of 5, that's miniscule when compared to the cost of buying EP's! If we were coming over for just a couple of days, the hotel room would be a complete no-brainer.
