I really liked the movie, and decided to go even after the Hartford Courant gave it only 3 stars out of 5. The story line intrigued me, and I have liked just about every movie that Angelina Jolie has been in. She didn't disappoint. I think she is one of Hollywood's most beautiful women, however in this movie she wasn't glamourized. She was pretty; that was it. Her character was believable, and the movie, set in 1928 seemed so authentic that it could have been filmed in 1928...except it was in color. The story developed slowly but it was a slower paced movie and it was appropriate. Its a disturbing story but well worth seeing.
