Anyone see this yet ? I hope he changes his mind

we would go to a park but always end up at Epcot to get dinner.
I've been doing that almost every day of vacation for nearly 30 years. It started when the kids were little and they'd be done and sleeping in their strollers by 6 pm. It just became my normal. I believe, given how busy world showcase is in the evening, we aren't the only park guests doing that. I don't think they'll eliminate park hopping.

I wonder about that. I miss the old days (pre-FP+ also) when I could just go to the bus stop and get on the first bus that came along, regardless of where it was going. It was such a great "vacation" feel.

Aaahh..the good 'ole days. If they never come back with FP+ I will be happy.

Does anyone have any sort of link to the origin of this? I'd like to read what he actually said or didn't say instead of drawing conclusions off some meme on the internet.

Please and thank you.

There are a small amount of us out here who don't actually make FPs or ADRs in advance. If we make FPs at all, it's day of, usually if we want to ride a ride a we stand in line and I might book at FP for the next ride if there is one available in no more than 30 min. As far as ADRs, again we book them day of, usually in the afternoon while walking around. We have always had PHs since the time there were actually two parks to hop between. One reason we have not gone back this year is the reservation system. We just don't like to be tied down to a certain park a certain day, we are total by the seat of the pants WDW people. We are not ride centric, we have been known to go to MK and not get on a single ride then go to another park and maybe ride one or two rides and then go to another one. I was o.k. with wearing a mask, o.k. with shorter hours, heck even o.k. with higher prices but having to schedule what park on what day, might break a 38 year streak of going to WDW at least once a year, most years at least twice or three times. We actually still do the hop on the first bus to come thing. We tend to stay at the Epcot resorts because Epcot and HS are our favorite parks and we usually only spend 1/2 day at most at MK and drop in and out of AK. So even if you can still park hop in the future but have to book a reservation to get into a park might kill it for us. I don't need to ride a ride to enjoy WDW but I do need to be able to do things on the fly.

Only real issue I see with the park reservation system from a personal perspective is wanting to dine at night in Epcot if we stay at BCV or BWV. We would likely go to another park during the day, say like MK or HS, and then come back to the resort for some pool time and to get cleaned up prior to spending our evenings in World Showcase. Would hate to get locked out of that scenario in the future once the world returns to somewhat normal.
I agree. We usually stay at the Epcot resorts and do a lot of park hopping.

This is so much like us. I agree with almost all of this, except we get in our truck and decide a park and not waiting at a bus stop.

We did enjoy our early August trip. We knew what it was going to be and while we wouldn't want to do it every trip, it exceeded our expectations (I had pretty low expectations given the mask rules, etc.). Not being able to park hop? Yeah. No. That's a deal breaker going forward. I'll deal with it given the current situation, but I wouldn't think about having to deal with one park a day with a reservation only going forward. Ain't happenin' with us. We're out if that happens long term.
