Especially in light of the sexual assaults, weirdos flashing kids, etc. etc. I would never let my 2 kids out of sight at the parks let alone just leaving them on a lounger by themselves.

Today, DH noticed a news van in our subdivision a couple times. Channel 4 Detroit. Just found out that this couple lives around the corner from me. They just aired the story. I have never really talked to the couple, but I have seen them outside with the kids. I feel bad for the kids.

So sad...loved the fact they took the nephew to the pool but left the kids in the room alone. As a child of the Foster system I can say LOTS of the parents I have met are in it for the money, labor for free and built in babysitters. The last one I was in had 8 foster kids at all times. We enabled them to live on 10 acres have a great built in pool and a 6 bedroom house.

I just read that it happened again in NJ I think where they left a child in a hotel room to go the the hotel pool, but not the hotel they were staying at one down the road.

I feel so bad for these kids and I hope all of them turn out ok. Personally I dont even take a shower till 2AM when my DD is sound asleep and my DH is at home cause Im afraid of leaving her alone.

That is exactly the reason I won't leave my 12 year old and 9 year old alone. They are always with me or mom - no matter where we go. It is a shame that you have to get a driver's license to drive a car, a fishing license to fish, a hunting license to hunt, but any damned idiot can have children!
