We saw it last night, and though it was pretty well done, there was no way the movie could come close to the book. The acting was much better than in the earlier movies, but Rita Skeeter was poorly cast and a huge distraction in the few scenes she ruined.
I thought Fleur was very cute, Harmionie looked lovely at the ball, and Cedric and Victor were good looking and well-played. Mad-Eye was well-done but not at all what I pictured in my own mind while reading the book.
We took our sons, who are five and eight, and they both liked the movie because they are huge HP fans. I thought the last movie was more intense and the scenes with Voldemort in the Sorcerer's Stone were scarier than anything in this movie. My kids weren't scared at all, and neither was the row of five year olds behind us, the ones who knew all the characters and identified the Riddle house as soon as it appeared on the screen
I give it 3 out of 4 stars.
