Anyone see airfare for December? OMG!

Last night DH went online and checked out airfare for our Dec. trip. Don't know dates yet, DD's school chorus will perform in Candlelight Processional. It's always early Dec. though. Plugged in dates with US Air and the prices were outrageous! Showed price of $500 one way!!!!!Were less with other carriers but still higher than I've ever paid for a flight from PA to Orlando. We almost have to fly that trip because it's only 4 or 5 days. But if the price doesn't budge, I might just be on that auto train or driving myself!:

USAirways is out of sight. DH got a CC from them with some $99 companion tickets. So, we tried "our" December dates, from Dayton, and the price for one came up as $1300! It's a good thing that we have other options, and took them, Delta for about $250 each.

PS. USAirways did have good prices from Columbus to PHL for a spring trip that I needed. They must want to make all of their profit going to MCO.

We wait until Southwest releases thier December dates. US Air is just too expensive that time of year.

I bet if you look back in a couple of hours the fare will be different by $50. I'm scouting Turkey day trip air, and while NWA isn't bad, their competitors out of DTW don't have their fares up yet(SWA, Air Tran and Spirit).

Look at when the SWA crowd starts to post fares, they will look better.

You should check out Southwest.com and make sure to download the DING! We just booked $29 airfare both ways for our trip in June.

My family and I are flying out of Pittsburgh on December 9th and I am waiting for the Southwest flights to come out. They are usually the cheapest. I know I had a heart attack when I first saw the prices of flights. I talked my DMIL and DFIL into flying because it would be cheaper!!!! Just be patient and wait for the Southwest flights!!!

I can't understand if anyone has SW close to them who would fly USAir. I always find their prices to be outrageous.

At least you have the ability to fly SW. I live in Dallas and because of a stupid law called the Wright Amendment, I am unable to get a non-stop flight to MCO on SW.
