Anyone Returned Something To Target With No Receipt Lately...?

A couple of days ago, I bought new rugs for the kitchen. I hate them IN my kitchen, and wish I would have bought a different color of the same rug. I've looked everywhere... I can't find the receipt... And I used cash that day. I DO have the tags though.

I know Target is so particular lately. I just want to do an EVEN EXCHANGE with the different color rug.

Is it even worth it to try? Will they give me a hard time?

I think they will do an even exchange or in store credit-especially if it is a "Target" brand.

Depends on the store. I've tried to even exchange "Circo" shorts for my DD to a larger size and have been told no. However, it can't hurt to try.

I don't think there would be a problem, but then again I've never had one issue returning/exchanging anything at Target (it completely confuses me that so many people have. I've dealt with different target stores too and never one issue )

I've returned several items to Target recently (received way too many infant clothes as gifts) without a receipt. I was told they could only issue me a gift card - I didn't expect anything more than a gift card (I was thrilled).

So yes, give it a shot! All they can do is say "no".

Is it far from your home? If so, I would call first.. I would be surprised if they said no to an even swap, but all of the stores are getting very particular about returns/exchanges now..

I have. I bought curtains for my bathroom a year ago and hadn't gotten around to hanging them until about 6 months ago when I finally looked at the length of them (written right on the package, I didnt' even take them out!) I realized they were far too long, but I figured it was too late to return them so just tucked them into my linen closet.

I cleaned my linen closet out about a month ago and found them, and decided it was worth a try to return them. they were the target brand, so figured the worst they could do is say no. they took them back no problem! from what I understand they take a certain number of no-receipt returns per year, and they did run my license.

I say give it a try!

This is why I like charging items at Target. They can enter the credit card number that you used and pull up your purchases even without a receipt.
