Anyone rented from National at Swan?

I am nervous about taking ME from BWV to MCO - heard long load up times etc and was hoping to spend the morning at Epcot (our flight is at 3pm). So - I have reserved a car to be picked up at the National counter at the Swan/Dolphin.

It is only $41 for 1 day - so a bit cheaper than a one way shuttle and I can control when I leave. Maybe just fill the car with our "stuff" in the morning. Spend some time at Epcot, walk back to BWV and then head to the airport about 1pm. Also, this is for January 13 2006.

Anyway... anyone have any experience picking up a car from there? Time consuming? Easy? Difficult? Thanks for the thoughts!

It's not much different from renting a car anywhere else, except the desk area is much smaller than it would be at an airport. There has usually been only one person on duty--and no customers--when we've rented from there.

The only other difference I recall is that a valet has to bring the car around to you rather than you going to the lot and getting it.

Thanks Bob! I was hoping it would be relatively painless... If it is going to eat up a bunch of time, I didn't want to deal with it, but it sounds like it should be fairly easy.

I am renting a car one way from the airport to BWV and dropping it there (need to run some errands the day we get to Orlando, so a car makes that easier), but didn't need the car to sit in the parking lot for 8 days (like it did last year!)... so reserved another one day for the return.

Actually so you don't go to the wrong resort, the rental car agency is at the Dolphin not the Swan. DH and I have rented from them numerous times and it was always quick and easy. Once you do the paperwork the valet from the Dolphin will bring the car around so you don't even have to go hunt it down!!

Thanks TJ.... I sometimes forget that they are actually 2 separate hotels. I will make sure to drop off on the proper side, and then I will know where to pick up my rental for our return to MCO!
