I think the movie rental program on iTunes is a complete waste of money. You have each movie for 24 hours from when you begin watching, which means that if you watch 30 minutes now and want to save the rest for tomorrow, you'll have to re-rent the movie. It runs a lot like Disney's internet connection 24 hour continuous period of time.![]()
I second the Handbrake thing. www.handbrake.fr
that way you can take stuff you already have on dvd and convert it. It might take all night for one dvd, but it's still worth it. I'll never rent...or buy... movies from iTunes.
I have used Handbrake for some DVD's and it is nice but I find that I have a hard time with Disney movies. It says that the movie is protected or something. Is there a way around this for disney movies? TIA
Yes, there is! There's something called DVD43 that breaks the encoding. I've used it to rip "Catch Me If You Can" onto my hard drive and it started as write protected.
Google it-last I checked, it was free!
I get all my movies/TV shows from elsewhere, already in mp4 format, and a simple drag and drop (or sync if you're that way inclined) puts it onto my iPhone

Looks like they don't make this for a Mac.. I heard Mac the ripper works but you have to convert it and put it on your hard drive then use handbrake to get it in mp4.. seems annoying to me.
Where do you get this?? inquring minds want to know??
I downloaded the program. Can someone please tell me how to use it? It's not working for me.
I'll be honest, i could never get Handbrake to work well for me - it either wouldn't find the dvd source, or if it ever did, took sooooooooooooooooooo long to convert
