The little door in Sleeping Beauty Castle the that lead through a series of Dioramas of the sleeping beauty story?

I saw it on my first trip but no one believed it...on the second trip however I was able to walk through it was cool...

Yes, up until 2001, they had the Sleeping Beauty walk-through in the castle. They closed it after 9/11 for security and ADA reasons.

During our VIP tour in April, the CM guide confirmed that there are plans to re-open the walk-through soon. Another two CM's confirmed the same thing on my last trip a couple weeks ago, and there are currently walls up near that entrance door, so I'm hoping they are working on it.

Thats cool, I could see the security concerns it was nice, dark and not well traveled...its good to now that I wasnt dreaming it...lol

oh how cool it wasnt that i never belived him its just i never rember it..but i went when i was really young and maybe I did do it i just cant remeber, was it like a spiral stair case?

I think that there was a small stair case...and I cant remember where you exited out of it either...I know the door was near where the princess shop is now..or very close to it.

Isn't that what is referred to as the castle walk-through?

It was closed awhile back. Some say it was closed b/c of ADA-based accessibility issues, others say it was security issues after 9/11...

editing to add...this is what happens when you click reply, notice your kid is fiddling around with clinky things in the kitchen, go in to find him playing with knives, and end up making lunch before coming back to post. :)

Yes, it was the castle walk through. Apparently some elements of it were destroyed to add pyro for Remember Dreams Come True. I hope it comes back, but I will believe it when I see it.

:lmao:

With this group you gotta be fast ;)

(BTW - I have a nice pic of you at the Indy show - can I post it?)

I heard a rumor somewhere (miceage?, allears?.. I forget) that they are reopening the walkthrough later this year. Lemme go search for a link....

I would love it if they opened it again. I fondly remember it when I was a kid, and remember taking DD there when she was very little. Thanks, Dangermouse, for the Yesterland link!

I love the classic, hand-drawn Disney movies best. I love the humor of Pixar, but nothing beats the sheer beauty of Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, Snow White...

awsome sucks that ited be chrismas or early 2009 but still awsome we will plan on seeing it next year at christmas time when we are planing our next years trip hehe

Well I was fast in clicking the button! It was just the wee bairn that made me slow in typing and posting. :)

Oh I was afraid you were taking pictures. Scary! You may post it; I assume on the ladies trip thread?

I think its wonderful that they are bringing the walkthrough back, but when I saw it the first time it didnt have the fancy awning over it just a simple open door and my aunt thought it was a place for the employees...The next time I went my parents followed me through.

It was cool and I cant wait to share with Jade and the little one.

*smiles* those pics look filmilor i know ive seen the out side for sure and vagely remeber the inside i remeber the book it was intresting but i was so young it was 92 or 93 id say.

I like the waterfall rather than the holes on the side of the matterhorn
