Anyone Remember This???

Came across some old Fort Wilderness material and found these. I don't remember this, but maybe someone else does. Kinda sounds like a good idea to do now as an option to Trails End buffet (which I still like, but others, not so much).

Our first visit to Disney World with the family was in August of '91. Our youngest was all of 6 weeks old. I remember reading about the breakfast back then! We never did get to check it out though.
I think it would be a good idea for FW to offer something like this again. Especially now that the Wilderness Lodge doesn't offer a character breakfast any longer.

I remember that!!! Our first trip with our children, (I was there in 72 when they opened and again in 78 on our honeymoon) back in 1985 or 1987 I believe, we went to that breakfast!! Our daughters got to have breakfast with the Disney characters - and the cost was much more reasonable than a dinner. Do any of you remember having Breakfast with the Disney Chracters on the big riverboat that used to be docked over by Disney shopping village? We did that, too, around the same time! Again, the cost was reasonable and Mickey, Minnie and all the rest ate with the girls. It was GREAT! Wish they would do that again! Thanks for the memories!

We did this a couple of times (breakfast "show"). Can't remember what year, but I remember one time riding a tram to get there & another time a bus. It was a lot of fun for the money!

Yep, I remember that, was a really good time, I think we might have done it once or twice. Definitely remember the flyers and stuff though, thanks for the memories!

I wish they still served seafood!!!! That buffet looks great. I am not a fan of the current menu. And the price.....

Unfortunately most food whether it be at Disney or your local restaurant is now processed. Sysco is a big food co. here in Florida and I would imagine Disney food is supplied by one of the chains. At least we still have the option of cooking our own food at the camper. One thing I really enjoy is shrimp and all the Disney restaurants I've sampled have old frozen shrimp most likely farm raised. Back in the day I'm sure a reputable seafood market supplied Disney with some good food.

When you go to Trails End for lunch and have the pulled pork, it's pulled alright, right from the rib bones from the leftover ribs the night before lol. I would imagine Albert and Victorias is pretty fresh since the price is so high but all the resort and park restaurants seem to have the same ol roast beef, ribs and so forth.

We started going off property last year. I just didn't know if the food was getting worse or if I was just getting a more sophisticated palet....did I even spell that right!!! Anyhow, I hate to say it ....but we are happier going somewhere else or cooking up a filet and seafood on the grill.

I have to disagree on this, some of my best meals have been at Disney (although at places like the California Grill, etc...). Victoria & Alberts, never been there, but for 100 bucks a pop, I can guarantee you nothing is frozen...lol. Artist Point is a great restaurant right around the corner at Wilderness Lodge (GET THE SCALLOPS). None of these restaurants are the same, they all have pretty significant differences, and I can guarantee just the 3 I named right there are nothing alike, and all are very very good food.

Park food is pretty hit or miss, although the Brown Derby at MGM is pretty good, and some of the restaurants in Epcot are "decent" to "above average". Of course, there is lots of just your park kind of food thrown in there.

Now if you're talking just Trails End, yea, it's nothing special, but it gets the job done, and I've never had a "bad" meal there. I wouldn't go there expecting anything crazy though (unless going to Crockett's Tavern of course )

I remember the breakfast and buffet also. Started camping there in 1976. We also used to like the make your own pizza. You could select the toppings off the buffet and put them on your pizza. It was one of our favorite things to do.Did anyone else do this?

I remember make your own pizza night it was every Friday night that was back when the pizza was good not the crap they sell today and Dave and Sam told jokes and played music live.

Definitely remember the make your own pizza night. Pizza and beer, it was excellent pizza.
How about the sing along. I think the guy played a banjo, I do remember the words on a screen with a bouncing ball. It was a great time.
