So as my fiance and I walked through Marketplace and PI the other day, I got to remembering when PI was brand new and the Village was starting to transform. I was just a kid, but there was a restaurant called the Fireworks Factory, no? As I remember, they had this great onion straws loaf that I loved!:thumbsup2 Anyone else remember this place, and who knows what is there now? I want to say it was in the same location as Portobello but I could be wrong on that. Of course then again, I could be making up that this place existed in the first place:rotfl:

Oh yeah. Great wings. I think it was where Motion is now, but I could be wrong. After it closed, I think it was a country dance bar, then Motion.

I remember it too. :thumbsup2

It was wonderful, we were there for dinner 15 years ago on our honeymoon:hug:

I really dont remember where it was exactly, just down town disney.

What really stands out besides the food, was our waiter was a riot. :rotfl:

Thanks for the memories.

Only 58 more days till our anniversary trip to POR, :dance3:

COOL! We went there on our honeymoon too - almost 16 years ago! We had so much fun. I guess I was a kid too! Only 20 at the time! :rotfl:

Our family LOVED this place, the food, the atmosphere, the rest rooms ;)

We often talk about how much we liked the onion rings and corn bread. Never did figure out why they closed the place........

We ate there on our second trip to WDW. Our friend loved the flatware and was gonna sneak it home in her purse.

I remember whatever dessert we got was served in a skillet and had sparklers in it.

Great BBQ sauce and ribs...we used to buy a few bottles for home.

Okay I guess its pretty obvious what I remember. But you can't forget the tollhouse cookie served in a hot skillet with vanilla ice cream.:lovestruc

I had completely forgotten about this place until you mentioned it! I've been trying to remember where I ate when I went for my graduation trip, and we did eat here one night. I mostly remember it being CROWDED to capacity. I loved PI at 18, it was the coolest place I had ever been.

We were just telling our triplets about it last night! We ate there on our Disneymoon in April 1995. The restaurant put a whole hot pepper on my plate. I took a bite and literally was on fire. It was the hottest pepper I've ever eaten. So, DH doesn't believe me and puts the entire thing in his mouth. Well, it set him on fire, and he was HURTING! He has never doubted me again. I have some hilarious pictures of his face and the pepper.

I remember it also. Ate there twice and the BBQ was pretty good. I can't say what is there now although I think it was right next to Portabello. I think they were both open at the same time.

I think the Wildhorse Saloon took the place of the Fireworks Factory, which means right now there's nothing going on in that spot. LOL

Fireworks Factory was always busy busy busy when we'd go there........I wonder what on earth prompted them to close the place?

That's a good question. We always liked the place--BBQ ANYTHING seemed to be their specialty. And didn't they have black and yellow checkered tablecloths??

Oh yeah, I remember that! My dh and I were there on our first trip to Disney together back in 1997. If I remember correctly, they had a pretty good jumbalaya dish...
