Anyone remember my student "S?"

Maybe the parents were hesitant to disclose medical information because they knew it was going to be discussed on a public message board by the teacher.

Oh good grief!
She didn't mention the kid's name or school...heck, we don't even know what state the OP lives in.
 
So now the child has a label. How is that really going to change anything in the classroom? If you've read things and tried things, how is having this label going really turn this child around? Unless the parents work closely with the school on a very structured program (which he/she should have already had given the situation) or the parents decide to try medication, the label is not really going to make a darn bit of difference.

It's not like the clouds have been lifted and streams of sunlight are now beaming down with angelic music playing. "Oh, now we know he has ADHD. Now we know what to do!" :laughing:

And I'm not saying this as not knowing anything about teaching. I've been a teacher of students with special needs for 18 years. And I also agree that NONE of this information should have been shared on a public message board.
