Anyone remember a way to book disounted room only?

Many years ago, someone posted a way to book a room only discount. I believe it was a travel company that had blocks of rooms available that they then discounted, heavily. I can't find it by searching the old posts and was hoping someone here could private message me the information if they are aware of it. Thanks in advance.
