Anyone regret getting a Kindle

My only regret is that my daughter dropped it and we had to buy a new one! :lmao:

We haven't spent any money on books yet, as there's a huge selection of free ones. We enjoy reading the classics. Also, you can read on-line with it, so my daughter uses it to read a lot of Fan Fiction.

If your library offers it, and more are, you can borrow books with a Nook.

I just ordered mine last night, so I'm very happy reading this thread :goodvibes I hate spending money so the amount of time that went into making that decision was obnoxious.

I love my Kindle. Maybe a little too much! I find myself reading on my Kindle when I should be doing homework:laughing:

But I do wish a few things were different. My kindle region is not the USA, so every book is automatically $2 more.

Talk to your government, the money's going to them!

Yep.... I never really enjoyed it for anything other than reading while on the treadmill.

After running out of books on my Kindle, and getting some library books, and then struggling with them on the treadmill and elliptical, I would PAY to never deal with that again!

What's even better is if you get a book with audio allowed, and you can set it to read to you, then put it to silent. As it reads silently, it flips the pages *for you*..... (why can I never remember the dis'er who let me in on that trick? thanks to you, you know who you are!)

(this has been an honest "review" by someone who has a husband who works for the Kindle team at Amazon. I would never have gotten one if it hadn't been for him getting the job, but now that I have one, I can't imagine going back to ONLY paper-books again)

The only "complaint" I have heard from anyone with an e-reader is that they read books faster and too many of them :lmao:
That is definitely my problem.

I got the K3 for Christmas. I wasn't sure I would like it as I truly love books.

But after the first book, I got into the "feel" of reading the kindle.

Now I have to hide my kindle from myself because I can get way too engrossed in it for far too long.

The biggest problem? If I finished a book and wanted another one, I used to have to plan to go to the store or order it online. It gave you a certain amount of time between books to actually get some work done.

Now I can finish a book and within 30 seconds have the next one ready to read. VERY dangerous when you are trying to avoid housework :lmao:

About 5 minutes ago, I downloaded a book for my 14 year old to read for his reading goal. He hates to read, but loves to read a kindle because he doesn't get discouraged seeing all the pages he has left. So, to me that makes the kindle worth its weight in gold.

I have a K3 and it goes everywhere with me. I wouldn't be without it. I can easily adjust my type so I can read easily. I had a Sony but the Kindle is so much better

I was really leery about getting ANY ereader; I love books.

That said, I adore my Kindle. I've paid for a few books - but I have about 110 so far. Maybe I bought ten of those? Maybe fewer.

I chose the Kindle because Consumer Reports recommended it over the others (granted, just slightly over the Nook - but still, better is better ;))

My Kindle is my baby! Started with the K2 and got the K3 a few months ago. It is with me all the time. I can't ever imagine regretting it!!:goodvibes

I've had my Kindle for over a year, and I adore it! One of the best purchases I ever made! But I do agree that it's WAY too easy to buy books now...

I love my Kindle! I was a bit leery at first. I like holding a book in my hands so I wasn't sure how it would feel with the Kindle. It took me a couple of days to get used to it but now it feels akward reading a paperback. :rotfl: No regrets here.

This is my hesitation about getting one.

Thanks everyone for your input! I feel more confident about getting one.

Not at all, my kindle goes with me everywhere and is one of my favorite "toys." In fact, if I could afford it I would buy one for all my friends and family.

My Nook on the other hand...that I regretted. In fact my Nook was given away after about a month because I couldn't stand it.

The only regret I have about my kindle purchase is that now that I have an iPad I don't use the kindle. Yes the kindle is easier to read on for long periods of time, but often it's up in my room while the iPad is never out of reach. I know you can't really compare the 2, but for me I just never really use the kindle anymore.
