Has anyone refered a friend to disney vacation club and the friend bought and they recieved the incentive that they advertised this year. They sent it to me in the mail. Cards with the website on it And they gave your name and you got a different dollar amount certificate for each person that bought. It said you would not recieve your credit until after the closing. I had a friend buy a couple of months ago and still have not recieved my credit. Just wondering if anyone had this and received theirs.

Thanks

I would call and remind them. My brother referred me when I bought in. He did have to call his DVC guide (same as mine) to remind him. He did get the $250 credit.

Good luck!!

My friend used us and a references when they brought their DVC. I didn't even know that they had brought in till I received my credit. I used it help pay my maintenance fees. :thumbsup2

I hope you get yours soon.

someone says that the new member must start paying for it - before you get your credit. (this does not include the downpayment)

I got the Disney dollars!!!

oh forgot you have limited time to do this - so when the certificate come fill them in immediately...

I forgot on my first one and got nothing. I think it is like 60 or 90 days - where you must decide and send it back to them.

Some states don't allow any 'gifts' for this. We live in Pa. and we can't get anything here, except a nice thank you card and knowing someone I can borrow points from.

My sister got credit when I joined.

How long does it usually take? I forget how long it takes to close. I am assuming the incentive gets awarded after closing but before the deed gets recorded.

It took several months to get mine. My mom joined September of 2005 and I did not get them until February of 2006. I had to call my guide and then he contacted member services. He said they were very behind on that.
But when I got my $200 Disney Dollars I was VERY happy! Spent $1000 on one trip and saved the other $100 for this last one in July so I can ease the hurt on my wallet a little bit :thumbsup2

We referred some friends that bought but we never got anything. I need to call my guide to check on why. I think they ended up buying from a different guide, but I thought they'd have to buy from mine? HMMM- I will have to see- I'd love to get that $200 in Disney Dollars for our upcoming trip!

I live in Connecticut, where you cannot get any sort of "thank you" or incentive gift for referring someone to a timeshare. I believe it is a state law.

We have always gotten a nice thank you note from the DVC whenever we have referred someone though.

Word of advice, if you are referring someone, make sure before they sign of the dotted line they specifically state that YOU are the ones making the referral. Seems that if a person looks into DVC today, casually mentions that friend A referred them but never buys and then goes back 5 years later, mentiones that friend B referred them, wants friend B to get the referral the actual referral credit goes to friend A from 5 plus years ago.

We did. We applied it towards our maintenance fees. I believe it took about three months after the new member closed.

Texas is another state where we get the thank you note but no referral funds - sad - so we tell our friends that are interested to use names of other friends that can receive the benefits!

We referred 22 people and 7 signed. However, in the state of CT, it is law that unless you have a Real Estate License, it is unlawful to accept gifts for referring time shares.
