We're thinking of spending a day at the beach on our upcoming trip. We usually go to the Gulf side but were thinking about Cocoa Beach for a change of pace. Anyone have any thoughts on whether this is a good idea?

Although I was not impressed by the town itself, we liked the beach. If you like a beach with huge waves, then you will like Cocoa. We found the beach clean, and there were no jellyfish. It was cold at first, but it was refreshing, adn you didn't freeze when you got out. There is no place to rent anything, but there are some good deals on umbrellas and bodyboards on the way there. We stopped at laura wilson park, and went to the beach from there. There are also no garbage cans right on the beach, so be prepared to lug your garbage with you. The waves got stronger as the day progressed, so need to be careful with little ones.
