how's the pool renovation going? I know that renovations are supposed to be going on through "late March". Also, how are the quiet pools...are they very crowded? We'll be there from 3/24 though 4/4 and are REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to it :goodvibes :hyper: :hourglass !!!!

I just got back from a split BCV and VWL stay. The main pool is obviously out of commission. There was a sign up that they were running shuttle boats to the Contemporary to use the pool over there. The quiet pool near the villas was a bit crowded but not terrible. My family spent very little time at the pool, however. I'm sure that you'll have a great time. It was my first stay at VWL and my kids loved it, especially the MK boat and the theming. I'm jealous- we want to go back. Have fun.

How is the pool at the Contemporary? My family usually wouldn't spend too much time at the pools either, but being we will be there around Easter time and the parks may get really crowded, we may be spending some afternoons lounging around the pools!!

Hi. We just got back Friday from a week stay at WLV. The main pool is totally under renovation so no swimming will take place there. The quiet DVC pool was very quiet first thing in the morning but got really crowded in the afternoon. The lifeguards are shuttling guests on a pontoon boat between the WL and the Poly and the Contemporary. It is so much faster than the boats to MK and the Contemporary. Just a few minutes and you are there. We went to both but preferred the Cont. because the pool slide was under rehab at the Poly. The theming at the Poly is nicer but the pool was so crowded because it seemed quite small. We ended up taking the shuttle over to the Cont. and really enjoyed it. Not great theming but a very large pool, a working waterslide and lots of water squirting up for the kids to play in. You need to walk to the docks at WL on the beach to get the pontoon shuttle. The lifeguard will take you where you want to go and then come pick you up when you are ready to leave. You just have to ask a lifeguard to call and let them know you need a ride back to WL. It was so easy and wasn't the hassle I thought it would be. One day we went to MK and walked to the Cont. for a swim--take your swim stuff. Then we took the pontoon shuttle to the WL when we were finished. It worked out nicely. I hope you find it as easy as we did. Have fun! :thumbsup2

That sounds wonderful :goodvibes !!! I've always wanted to check out the Poly a little more...what a great excuse!!! We're having breakfast there one morning with Lilo and Stitch so that might be a great day to take advantage of the pontoon boats.

Check when you are there because I don't think they started shuttling guests until the lifeguards came on duty at 10 AM. Good excuse to go to a late breakfast and then swim afterwards or before if you can get up that early. :)

It was partitioned off while we were there and it looked like quite a bit of construction in the pool itself--jackhammers and that sort of thing. The boardwalk with the shortcut to the DVC building was also closed due to the construction. The kiddie pool and hot tubs were open though.
