Hi Everyone,

I have a few different groups of friends driving from South Florida up the turnpike to Disney World.
I will direct them to take the Osceola Parkway to the Disney area. They are staying at The Marriott in Downtown Disney. I KNOW how to get there from the Osceola but I don't know what the signs say to direct them there. I think maybe Route 535... Downtown Disney Resorts? I'm not sure. Then when they are on that road, they go a couple of miles ( ?? ) and take a left on Hotel Plaza Blvd. Across from The Crossroads Shopping Center.
Probably a dumb dilemma but I am trying to organize this as well as possible...we all want to meet at the Boardwalk, then go to Pleasure Island. Seems like a hassle to take a bus to somewhere else and THEN to the Boardwalk but we don't want to drive cars either. I suppose we could eat somewhere in the DD area but I really want them to see The Boardwalk and eat at Spoodles. This is the only chance I have to get them all there.
We will be at The Caribbean and could pick them up at their hotel (more than one trip) and drive to the Boardwalk, then we all take a bus to PI but then we have to worry about getting our car from The Boardwalk late at night. Or could we leave our car there overnight and get it in the morning?
I know parking and valet are a hassle at PI so I guess the buses are the way to go. I did read a post that suggested taking a cab, not sure that's necessary though.
So those are my two immediate problems. 1. How to direct my friends to the hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. 2. How to arrange the Boardwalk/Pleasure Island night.
I will greatly appreciate any help!

I would say Oceola straight till you hit Disney property then follow sings for Downtown Disney that will take them to the area where their hotel is. (I would figure)

Thanks for replying Tnkrbell,
That's just what I would figure too but I have noticed that the signs can be very confusing around Disney property. We know different ways to get different places on property, but it seems like the signs sometimes take the long way to get somewhere or they are just plain confusing in their wording. There are a few short and easy routes we take to some different areas, but you'd be taking a longer, more complicated way if you followed the Disney signs. Just trying to keep us on our toes I guess?

I'm know I am obsessing about it more than I need to, I'm sure they'll find their way there eventually!

Osceola Parkway to the intersection immediately after Gaylord Palms (Victory Way, Disney's Wide World of Sports will be on the left and the under construction Pop Century will be on the right). Take a right on Victory Way to the next intersection. Take a right at the next intersection and follow that road until you come to Downtown Disney (there will be signs). At the Marketplace take a right on to Hotel Plaza Blvd.

That should take them where they need to go!

Hi!

I just sent you a Private Message with detailed directions for a more direct route there.

HI,
We stayed at the Mariott last year and are staying there again in November. May I suggest after they check in just walk to downtown disney,(about 3-5 minutes) its a nice walk. They can get the bus right there to the boardwalk without any hassle. The same for going to pleasure island. The mariott offers direct bus service from pleasure island back to the hotel if its late and not in the mood for another walk. Its a little longer from there:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ;) ;)
