Hi Friends,
Just curious if anyone works at Home Depot and purchased their WDW tickets through the associate site? If you have, how did that work? I see they have a buy 3 days, get 2 free with PH option that saves almost $100.00 off 5 day PH from tickets directly through WDW. But I am confused on how you get them, how it now works with MB ( Sort of a MB noob) and how the 2 free days work. Do they automatically get tacked on?

TIA!
Danielle

What they are actually selling is a 5-day ticket for the price of a 3-day ticket.

What is the actual price of that 5 day ticket?

Is that $100 off ONE ticket? Or $100 of ALL your tickets?

You may find tickets cheaper at sites like Undercover tourist. I never found the "discounted" tickets from my employer's associate site to be any better deal than Undercover tourist. Sure .. they are discounted over the gate price, but not as much as other places.
(Undercover tourist you can get a 5 day ticket for $322 .. that is slightly cheaper than gate price)

Anyway .. when you get tickets from external sources .. you just link the tickets by entering their number (on the ticket) into the My Disney Experience App.

You can then associate those tickets with any Magic Bands in your account I think.

More or less. HD price is : $355.79 for 3 day/2free PH for Adults and $338.26 for Kids. WDW site lists 403.64 for a 5 day PH for Adults and $382.34 for Kids.

I can't see the price of those tickets but just double check and see if they are cheaper than everywhere else. My wife just purchased tickets through her work and they were cheaper than everyone else that sells tickets. If HD works like her place does then once you purchase the tickets, they send you and email with a code that links your tickets to MDE. After we purchased our tickets online, we had a code in a few minutes and within 5 minutes they were linked to MDE. Went very smooth.

They should have a phone number somewhere on their main page, call them and double check with the linking process. I bet it is similar to ours, they've had MDE out for a while and all these places that sells tickets have to be able to link to it or they wouldn't be selling any.

Here is what I found when comparing HD Assocaite Tickets, UT Tickets and WDW Tickets, these are total prices for 2 Adults, 1 child for 5 days with PH:
HD: $1094.84
UT: $1121.85 (They are doing by 4 days, get 1 day free)
WDW: $1189.62

The difference between HD and UT is minimal and I think I'd feel better going through UT, as there are a lot of people on these boards that back them and if there are any problems, I know there will be a sea of helpful replies (oh so thankful for the DisBoards). But I was curious overall, to see if anyone had gone the HD route.

And then did you purchase MB if you didn't already have them? We have 2 bands from a short trip last fall, but I'd have to purchase one for my DS. MB is causing a lot of headaches for me :headache:

We booked our vacation through Orbitz first. About 5 days later we bought our tickets. We don't have our MB's yet as our vacation isn't until July but I assume you just link the MDE stuff onto the MB's? I can ask my wife as she did a trip earlier this year. I'll get back to you once I hear from her.

Ya .. unless you are staying on-site .. you'll need to get a new Magic Band for your DS.
(I'm not sure .. but the only way I know of getting Magic Bands is ON site .. but they link the ticket to the MB for you when you purchase it)

Your old bands from last fall will still be in your account and you can link two of your new tickets to that one.

MBs aren't that bad if you look at it this way. It is simply your ticket .. on your wrist (instead of the card).

Yup, we are staying On-Site. I've just read some horror stories on here about reusing their old MB and getting everything linked without there being any problems. We aren't touring on arrival day, but we are eating and are purchasing the DDP (With coveted reservations already made), so I don't want there to be this huge issue and possibly making us late for anything...

Since you are staying on site you will get 3 brand new magic bands. (I know, feels like a waste, right?)

You can just link your tickets to the new MBs once they ship to you (plenty in time before the trip).

If you ALSO link your new tickets to your old magic bands .. then you can use either bands (old or new) for park entry.

It is pretty intuitive, but you can also check talk to your hotel concierge or go to guest services at Downtown Disney your arrival day. That helps be 100% ready for the first park day.

What tlmaden73 said. My wife had a MB from her Feb. trip and I asked about that same thing. Every time you book Disney will send you a knew band.

Sorry guys, I should have mentioned, we are DVC members. Admittedly, we are NEW dvc members, so I don't think we are getting bands? Can someone confirm?

All reservations at a WDW Resort that's owned & operated by Disney are eligible to get MagicBands. This includes the WDW DVC Resorts.

Once you have the confirmation number for the DVC reservation, link it to your MDE account. This will create a pending MagicBand order.

Im not a DVC member, but am good friends with one, and I am pretty sure they get new bands before each trip just like non dvc on site guests. I rented dvc last may and got sent magic bands, and am renting for september and was under the impression we would get all new bands again.

Wow, thank you! You are the best! I've had some not so pleasant experiences on the DVC boards, so I wasn't even dreaming of posting there....

This is from my wife:
"When I bought the tickets, it gave me a number which when I went to the Disney app, and clicked on link a ticket, I then input that ticket number in and it linked it."

As others have said, once you book your vacation and have a reservation number, link it to your MDE and then Disney will send you your MB's approx. 2 weeks out from your vacation date.

Thank you and please thank your wife for me! :-)

You are welcome and I will tell her. Any time I can help, I enjoy it. Others have helped me and my family. We were in your boat earlier this year booking with Orbitz. I must have asked a dozen questions because I didn't want to screw something up. People on here are very helpful. Glad we all could help you and hope everything goes smoothly for you.

No one *has to* have MBs, FWIW.

Yup, we are staying On-Site. I've just read some horror stories on here about reusing their old MB and getting everything linked without there being any problems.

Where were the horror stories? Were they older? Were they because of glitches? Because glitches can happen ANY time. It's the nature of a glitch (the writers of Wreck It Ralph erred there, because you can't control or plan for a glitch).

If you ALSO link your new tickets to your old magic bands

There is no linking tickets to bands. You link tickets to MyDisneyExperience. You link MBs to MDE (or if they are sent b/c of an onsite stay they are automatically linked). When you use the MB, it links back to MDE (that's why that light takes a bit of time, because it's linking through the internet or their intranet) and grabs the ticket/FP+/dining/room-door-opening info.

If the old MBs are still on the MDE and active (and since you have to manually DEactivate a MB, it's likely they are still active) then they can be used.

Yes you get bands. It's how I have at least half of my 9 active, working, totally fine, MBs, from our DVC stays on points.

Odd. The only time things get contentious there is when we are trying to help someone save money by suggesting they not buy direct and they not finance. (says the person who bought direct AND financed but recognizes that our exact circumstances... where financing and weathering a layoff right after the rescission period, thereby causing us to really see the razor's edge we were sitting on, thereby causing us to be in a much better situation than we were in 2009...might be unique and not to be counted on happening again)

ETA: always remember that people don't stay on one board. They can go from here and there and everywhere, like I do, so you might end up with responses from the very people who irritated you before.

I can't find anything contentious at all in your history, so I'm confused! :)
