Voucher instead of activated annual pass? I don't think I can get what I need from the ticket booth at TL or BB because I want to upgrade an existing ticket (get some credit applied and pay the difference). I'd like to do it at a theme park ticket window or DTD guest relations but would like to take care of it before I plan on using it so would prefer voucher over activated pass. I'd call guest relations 800 number but they seem confused with detailed questions so I was wondering if anyone has actual experience. Thanks.

Well, I'll give this question a shot. I'm pretty sure that if you purchase any voucher in advance, you won't be able to get the credit applied from the old ticket. Purchasing vouchers in advance is usually just strictly purchasing the voucher online or over the phone, and then getting it activated later. If you show up at a ticket window with a voucher and an old ticket, I don't believe they are allowed to give money back on tickets. With that being said, I'm pretty sure that the waterpark ticket windows are set up to sell any ticket which includes the waterparks, including the magic your way with plus pack option, and the premium annual pass. So if you were going to upgrade to either of these tickets from an old park hopper with plus features, they should be able to do it at the waterpark ticket window. If you were thinking of upgrading a regular old park hopper without plus features (which didn't include the waterparks), to a waterpark annual pass, I'm not sure they will do that for you, since it's a major park ticket to a waterpark pass. If that's the case, where you're trying to go from an old park hopper with or without waterparks to a waterpark annual pass, this might be a question for GoldenOldie, to see whether that's ever done or not. I know the water park annual pass would have to be more expensive than what's left on your original ticket, they can't give money back.

Thanks for the reply! I have taken a single day ticket to DTD guest relations and been able to pay the difference to get an annual pass voucher (I think they gave me $53 credit for it.) I again have a single day ticket and hope there is some inherent value to it (either what I paid $53 or current MYW price $59) that could be applied to waterpark annual pass. Hopefully, its not something where I can only upgrade to a ticket that includes the park on the original ticket. Anyway, it will be fine if they don't give out vouchers and I get an activated pass, it just means I can't take care of it ahead of time. I hadn't considered they might not take my single day one park ticket and give credit toward a TL/BB waterpark pass.

Anyone ever buy vouchers for TL/BB waterparks and activate it later?

IIRC, water park annual passes are not sold as vouchers at any time. They are activated passes only. Guest Services at the water parks (yes, they're Guest Services not Guest Relations) should be able to handle your upgrade. They can handle anything that has to do with the water parks.
