Poohj80, a designated number of the "first" buyers at new DVC resorts get referred to as that resort's founding members. Don't know if this started back in the day when OKW opened or any of the other earlier DVC resorts but I do recall for sure founding member status described in AKV info, promos etc. I don't know for sure if AKV is the resort where 'founding members' were first given any sort of 'public' recognition like this name on BLT placque ( believe it is some sort of tapestry at AKV )

I guess my question was - how did folks know about the possibility of being a founding member to know to call? Maybe it's because I'm a DVC newbie, but I didn't know Founding Members existed.

Mentioned in press releases, also on promo that is on the official DVC members site; spread quickly on this site. If among first 1,000 buyers getting 160 points or more (under 160 won't do it), you are a Founding Member that gets name on a plaque, but as noted above that is all a Founding Member gets. They had similar promo at AKV. People did not "know" to call before Sunday when sales begin, but they surmised they could immediately call their guides and get in line for Sunday sales, i.e., put in an order that cannot be concluded until Sunday.

I know VB has founder bricks, similiar to walk around the world, around a palm tree outside of where the sales center used to be. I do not think VWL, BCV, BWV, or SSR had any kind of founders area.

I just called my guide very early yesterday morning after I received my email from DVC.

it will get you two nights stay in a standard studio during adventure season with 7 points to spare.... ... I think im going to have to buy 50 add on eventually

Just purchased >160 so I think I am a "Founding Member".
Does the first thousand refer to the first 1000 to agree to buy and put down a deposit or the first 1000 to close on their contracts??

Information:
If members do an add-on, then the min. purchase is 25 points.
If an existing member does a complete new contract then the minimum purchase is 160 points unlike AKV in which you can purchase a complete contract for 100 points, BLT minimum is 160.

We now have full and complete separate contracts at both BCV (which hereby now stands for Bread, Cheese, and Veal Loaf) and BLT. I needed to do this as I added other people to this contract which are not on the BCV contract.
Will I be able to easily transfer points between contracts for combining points and booking at 7 mo. window as I am primary purchaser on both?

How we got our call - bugging our guide several times in past year about calling us when it is announced... he never called us back before... but finally he did yesterday as we requested.

Called today to get down payment and finance info... now trying to decide if we will do it.

He said sales to general public start this Sunday.

DH and I had a deal, I got AKV and he gets BLT. I bought 160 so I get to be on the fountain.
