Anyone purchase an orginal BCV contract from Disney lately?

Just wondering if anyone has made a first time purchase of the BCV through Disney recently. My DH and I are calling this weekend to request a contract at BCV and wanted to hear any recent experiences. Thanks.

I bought BWV's last year, directly from Disney. I paid the deposit with my Disney Visa by phone, the points were available to me very quickly. I want to say in a day or two. I may be off a little on that, but I really was shocked at how fast the points showed up. The documents were delivered FEDEX, We signed everything, set up Financing with Disney ( this is the only one I financed) and was good to go.

When I callled my guide to see what was available, I bought what he had, I didn't get put on a waitlist. Now, with the new banking deadlines, I am glad that I have taken a different UY on BWV's. I was able to get a different UY because of the number of points that I bought.

I realize you asked about Beach Club Villas, the only thing I could see different would be if there may be availability or if you will have to be put onto a waitlist. When you buy from Disney, you don't deal with ROFR, but you also don't have the opportunity to buy a contract with any prior years points with it. The price is a little higher with Disney, than through the secondary market. Just no hassle.

Ditto everything here, only I did it last week (also BWV). Got pts right away, DVC MS very courteous, higher priced but--got to pick my use year, which may be crucial considering the new banking rules as mentioned above. Closing costs were lessened by paying by credit card (if you can), lower than with any resale, though this won't offset the overall higher cost/pt going through Disney.

Although a resort is "sold-out", you can still buy points directly from Disney. Disney obtains points through the ROFR process and sells them. Sometimes you have to go on a waitlist but sometimes there are points available.

Yes,

We were not current members and we bought a new 150 BCV points contract right from DVC last February $95/pt with no closing costs.Plus we put the total on our Disney card and got the reward credits than transfered the balance to a 0% credit card.

150pts was the minimum points and the price was $95 at the time, now I believe the min is 160pts and $98/pt

Here is the thread of current owners who are waiting on additional points at BCV. I can tell you that I have an October uy and have been on a wait list for more points at BCV since January.
